Change is the only constant, they say. And for Juhi Parmar, the current phase of life is at a very interesting juncture, filled with changes. Not
And the actress finds it ironical that as one important phase of her life is beginning, the other is coming to an end. Honeymooning in New Zealand at the moment, she found time to tell BT, "God has fit everything like that. It's spring time in my life — my singlehood is over and so is my show," she smiles. And it's with mixed feelings that she's bidding a goodbye to the show that made her a household name. "As an actress, I feel there are more avenues to explore but as a person, I feel sad that I won't be playing Kumkum ever again," she says. The actress has many fond memories of the sets and recalls being spoilt thoroughly by the cast and crew members. "I was like a queen on the sets!" she laughs, "I could behave like a spoilt brat. I know that the kind of family bonding we shared won't ever happen on any other set because shows don't last that long these days for that kind of camaraderie to develop. But all good things come to an end and this show too had to end." One person she will miss the most is her co-star Hussain Kuwajerwala. "He is a thorough gentleman and such a delight to work with," says Juhi. But she won't miss being called Kumkum. "That's because I will always be Kumkum for my fans!" she smiles. Ask Juhi if she will be open to playing more such emotional roles and she says, "I am but I don't want to repeat myself. I will make sure that there's some streak that's different from Kumkum." There's another show in the pipeline which will be a comedy but Juhi doesn't want to comment on that. Work can wait, she's on her honeymoon remember? |
