knowalot2 thanxxx sooo much dear now i understand what TRPs is! but i dont know how the production house gets paid! i mean if their shows get high TRPs then who well pay them is it the channel because their channel gets famous and then they pay the production house for this??

Yes, the channel pays the production house directly (e.g. for say BT) (who then distributes the pay and so on).

However its not necessarily true that a high TRP rating means that the actual prodcution house gets paid more frm the channel. There's a set amount of pay that the channel will giv to the production house. But a high TRP is a gd thing 4 the production house as well (in my understanding) coz that channel is more likely to have more contracts wid them in the future.

My 2 cents 😃

The main source of income for the channels is the advertisements that appear on the channel. The advertisers are intrested in reaching to the max people through their advertisements so naturally they end up preferring programs with higher trps. A program with higher trp means that most people watch the movie 😊

But advertisers pay to the channel and its the channel that pays the production house. Channels pay some percentage of the income to the prod house. So when the no. of advertisers increases, the income for both channel and prod house also increases 😉

Actually I dont think we can do anything to contribute to the trps bcos trps are calculated based on the viewing on some target audience or some sample homes. So its depending on wat they watch trp's are calculated. So even if we watch the show, if we dont fall under this sample category, then our watching the show wont add to the trps

WEll of late many of you have been bashing Hiten in this forum of how he is not wanted in this show but there is a reason for it I hope you guys understand that...........

yes actually those people who love hiten will be pulled in to watch this show...i really don't believe that people are not watching this show...the reason might be kdmhmd which comes at the same time and then colors popular serial...balika vadhu...i hate this trp race ..i think we guys are more than enough for this programme everywhere i see there is a massive craze for htis serial..then i don't understand why it is not getting high trps'

i just checked on indaintelevision .com this week ektas both show bandani and kitni mohbbat r on top 100...for the first time kitni mohabbat is on top 100 with TRP of 0.83 and bandani trp is 0.99..i think its v good thing that now on ndtv first time 4 serials r on top 100 otherwise onle ramayan was on that chart...so keep fingers crossed and i think this serial will rock soon on top 20 as well...its about 2 to 3 months required for any serial to show sucesses..............

Ok now i understannd i thought that TRP was because how much the channel pays the prodcution house but its not like that its like they have the TRPs like when the TRPs goes really bad then well the channel close the show and if TRps are high then this means that the channel well also be more interested in the serial and promte it more and tehy well also be very kind to the production house and make more deals with them but one thing i dont understand is how the channel gets money then????
