This was the most dramatic event that made fans skip a beat or two, after Tulsi's dramatic killing of Ansh in late December.
Add to the fact that the Sujal who died was the uber popular Rajeev Khandelwal, who had built the character into a super icon of sorts.
Post Sujal's death, the plot went askew, the ratings dipped, and we have no doubt that Balaji tried to woo back Rajeev into the fold. Finally, a new Sujal was roped in, and he has done a reasonable job of it. But the hysteria that Rajeev evoked died with his death as the original Sujal.
