Thanks Roja for expressing what is on our minds so well and so clearly. When we are irritated with a character, it should be borne in mind that it is exactly that and no more, we are not passing judgment on the actor or actress concerned. However, we are definitely concerned with the moral trend in these shows - violence in general, and in particular, violence against women has been depicted time and again, and it is not confined to women alone, it extends to children, cheating on one's spouse seems to be accepted, and discussion of one's marital affairs is done in public for the whole world to see and know.

While the nuclear family is fast disappearing in India and elsewhere, one possible reason may be the plethora of shows with scheming MILs and DILs and SILs. These plant ideas in the minds of all the people watching these shows, and make way for deterioration of relationships. Why is it not possible to have shows that are warm and family oriented? Where has it been said that serials must have MIL - DIL tension, cheating husbands and spouses, and evil bosses scheming to kill employees and so on? Can we not have shows modeled on shows like the Cosby show, Seventh Heaven, Brady Bunch, Step by Step, ALF, and so on?

For all those who want action packed serials, can we not have shows similar to Knight Rider, Fugitive, Macgyver, or even police shows like CSI, Law and Order and so on? Action and drama shows like ER would be welcomed. Where is the need for allt this unnecessary violence in the land of Mahatma Gandhi?

Just my two cents' worth.

I think I will miss the poo sutrals and fan fiction most of all, followed by the great comments and discussions, esp when some people insisted on knowing the color and style of SS's outfits and Priya's saris! I got to know the group through all these discussions and I will miss the camaraderie that was generated in these pages. I still remember all the gulab jamun and thayir vadai discussions and the laundering of SKPD's clothes, as well as the poosutrals about mallipoo and cauliflower, esp when I take out cauliflower to do some cooking! Those discussions were much better than the serial, in fact, they were the best part of the serial.

Incidentally, I did not see SKPD, Charu, Kandhu, Arjun, Dinesh, and Ammijaan in the final group photo. I am not so sure about SS and Priya and RK, either.

they didn't even utter the title word that establishes the serial as per traditions and norms. anandamnu solli, endla all of them were so sogam. and yes, half the crew were missing. what abt RKs own second daughter? andha thread went away like that, except for dinesh appearing towards the end in a couple of episodes.
at least if abirami had taken ACD's gun and shot RK and as a bonus, Shanthi in the end while pretending to get blessings from her mama, true to her fashion, I would have felt that the ending was justified.
ennikkO encounterla RK-ai pottu thaLLi irundhaa, everything would have worked out fine.
99% of serials drag on for years only to be done in a day's time with swiss cheese endings.
eljay, that has been my wish too - that they take sensible sitcoms like they do here in the US. remember cheers, golden girls, nanny. why can't they come out with genuine comedy? all they have is forced comedy.
i practically threw up after watching vadivelu's comic capers in villu today. an utter waste of my time.
anyway, thanks all for the wonderful job done here without expecting anything in return.

well said Eljay - whether the serial makers acknowledge or
not, as citizens of the world, we have a moral responsibility
to point out what we think as wrong - There is so much
decaying all around and as watch dogs we need to warn.
Somewhere, sometime, someone will stop for a moment
and think about our pathetic cry - Rojaaaaa you are an
optimist - out and out😉

Thanks for doing the final honours, Shylock! While they dragged on useless court cases for weeks and weeks with lawyers and judges from supreme court [:O] , this ending was so abrupt. Nevertheless it is such a relief to be out of this finally.
Well done updaters, IF Anandham makkal 👏👏and best wishes to the Anandham crew.
Mr.Satish,
It was really good to have someone from the cast, genuinely participating in discussions with us. Best wishes to you.

Thanks to all the those who updated the serial and kept those like me who often missed the episode as we were sure we could better account of the same through the update.
Also thanks to people like rojapoo etc who kept me laughing even though the episode itself was a bore

Hi friends. A quick thanks to all the regular posters - after all, I would have not been able to read about the episodes on many days, but for this IF thread.
Thanks Satish for coming here and posting from time to time.
I do want to add that I have resigned to the fact that all these serials are to be taken almost day to day, i.e., you cannot expect a sensible story line where all the "T"s are crossed and "I"s dotted. That's the way it always is. (Here's a quick example. My wife has been watching the Hindi serial "Saloni" for over 2 years now and I watch it occasionally. Last week in a single espiode the story jumped 11 years, just to show Saloni's daughter growing up and to be shown as looking the way Salnoi was when she was young! Of course, none of the adult characters changed a bit, be it Saloni, her SIL, or even the older monther figure!! It was a laugh riot.)

Thanks to all updaters for their wonderful job . keep it up. Hope to see u all in the new serial Kalyanam

I entirely agree with you Roja on the TRP[Television rating Point] ratings that the real ratings shd. be based on the reviews here. Hope atleast Satyajothi film's producers take note of this point while making their future serials..
No point expecting Thiruselvam[Thols] ever paying any heed to our crys.
