It's 2005, and unlike the '80s, actresses are now open about their relationships. Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen and Celina Jaitley all walk in proudly at events and appearances on the arms of their men. But there are exceptions to every rule, and Tanushree Dutta is one such.

The actress makes appearances with her beau, Aashiq Banaya Aapne director Aaditya Datt, but believes in passing off the relationship as "just a friendship".
When we quizzed Tanushree on her relationship with Aaditya, she denied he was someone special.
The bond shows
Tanushree and Aaditya were spotted in a lovey-dovey pose at Zayed Khan's Rockstar Party at Enigma, before his wedding, and more recently, at Otter's Club, where they are frequent visitors.
"Aaditya and I have a certain bonding, which shows. We are very good friends and have hit it off very well. We are around the same age, and share an excellent camaraderie, which shows — people form their own opinion from that," explains Tanushree.

People who worked with the two in the actress's debut film, however, swear that Aaditya and she are going around.
Closely guarded secret
A source close to the actress told us, "Aaditya and Tanu are very much in love, but they don't want people to know they are dating. She will never admit to the relationship in print. Being from a small town, Jamshedpur, Tanu has been brought up in a different environment. Recently, someone asked her for a photograph of her parents, and she refused."
Nazar lagti hai
However, industry sources say Tanushree's denial has to do with professional reasons, rather than personal ones. She is said to be very ambitious, and even asked Aaditya to deny their relationship — she didn't want it to harm her career.

But her friend insists otherwise. "Tanu's career has nothing to do with her silence. She doesn't want to disclose the whole history of her relationship with Aaditya, so she denies it, and will keep doing so.
Tanu feels that when you start talking about your relationship and give out every single detail, nazar lagti hai, and things go haywire. Right now, both are taking time to decide what to do. Maybe sometime later, when she feels it's time, she will talk about her relationship. But not right now."
While Tanushree might be emotionally confused, her career is going great guns. She has just signed Vikram Bhatt's film (produced by Harry Baweja) opposite Zayed Khan; Mukta Arts' Good Boy Bad Boy, opposite Tusshar; a three-film contract with Raj Kanwar; and a Telugu film opposite Balakrishna.
