Six girls failed to lift Akshay Kumar while shooting for a song in Kambakkht Ishq
A dance group consisting of six girls had a tough time trying to lift Akshay Kumar while filming a song for
Kambakkht Ishq. You heard it right. This time Akshay was anything but the knight in shining armour. After several tries, the girls had to give up and keep rehearsing so that the scene could be canned.
Our source from the sets says, "Vaibhavi Merchant was choreographing the song 'Mangalam mangalam' with Akshay and Kareena Kapoor. It was a catholic wedding sequence and there were international dancers in the background. For one of the scenes, six girls had to lift Akshay. However, they just could not get it right. In fact, Akshay almost fell down several times since the girls kept losing balance."
Some unit members also joked that the problem wasn't that Akshay is heavy but that the girls are starving themselves in order to control their figures.The shooting came to a halt since the dancers had to keep rehearsing. After almost two hours, the girls finally managed to get their moves right.
The source adds, "The girls were depressed but Akshay told them that such things do happen on the sets. When the shot was finally canned, everybody started clapping."
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar were unavailable for comment.
