Deadline is a racy thriller: Konkona

Konkona who is very selective about the films she does, chose to do this one after 'Page 3'. It was on the recommendation of Shabana Azmi, her co-star in '15, Park Avenue', she got in touch with director Tanveer Khan. She tells that there was no second thought after hearing the script and knew she had to do it. Konkona plays a distressed mother whose daughter is kidnapped and she fights against the odds to get her kid back. "It is at this time that she tries to find a way out to deal with the situation. 'Deadline' has that edge-of-the-seat quality that can keep the audiences riveted to the screen. From what I know, director Tanveer Khan deserves full marks for the way he has presented the film," Konkona tells. Irrfan Khan is in the role of a writer who actually kidnaps the child. Rajat Kapoor plays the husband of Konkona. The film is expected to hit the theatres in a short time from now.

Other than this thriller, Konkona is also acting in her home-production, '15, Park Avenue'. The film will be releasing in January. There is Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Othello' in the pipeline where she is working opposite Saif Ali Khan. She is also acting in Naseeruddin Shah's directorial venture.
