Here is an interesting story about Hanuman's Sindoor
Once, Hanuman asks Sita Mata (after Ram had become king and in Ayodhya) that why did u keep sindoor on your fore head? She replied that I keep it for the welfare of my Lord (Ramji).
Then Hanuman thought for a while and covered his entire body with sindoor. This shows how much he has devoted to Lord Ram.
This story was told by our Guruji and my mom told this to us.

Thanks for sharing this with us kiranraghu.
I've heard this story before.
Hanuman asks Devi Sita why she keps sindoor on her forehead and she reples that it is for the welfare of her lord. He asks her if that is so why keep so little - why not keep lots more (Pure and innocent love, affection - Lord Ram is lucky!!!). Hanuman wanted his contribution in that too. So he covered his whole body and boasted that Devi Sita kept only a little sindoor on her forehead but he had covered his body with it. Some versions mention that he came into the royal court and showed Ram what he had done too. This is the reason they give sindoor along with the prasad in Hanuman temples. Normaly only the sacred ash is given in the shrines of the male gods. But sindoor is given only in Hanuman temples.
And that is a beautiful picture.

Go to dailymotion.com, and search for Bajrangbali. There, you'll find the episodes of the movie, including the event in question. Although there, it's shown almost in a slapstick manner - after Sita gives him the reason, he covers himself with sindoor and goes to Rama hoping Rama would be delighted, but Rama only thinks it strange, and Hanuman then looks at Sita as though she was mistaken about that theory.

He is a great devotee of Lord Hanuman and their family is worshipping him since 13 generqations and every year for 4 days (before Magha masam) they celebrate great festivities of Lord Hanuman. That is a gr8 auspicious occassion. Our Guruji is a Brahmin, who lead a very strict life (of a brahmin- don't adopt to wear pant shirts performing worships to God every day early morning). He won't even adopt to eat any thing out side.
