Bachchan to shoot in Bhutan for Taalismaan
After Aladdin, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in yet another fantasy film titled Taalismaan. The film will go on the floors by the end of 2009 and shooting will take place in Bhutan jungles.
After Aladdin, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in yet another fantasy film titled Taalismaan. The film will go on the floors by the end of 2009 and shooting will take place in Bhutan jungles.
A source from the production house says, "Big B's look is going to be very different from all his previous looks. He plays the role of a warrior. The film's plot is based along the lines of the Hindi novel, Chandrakanta. Because the film is different, the shooting will take place in Bhutan where the geography is also quite different. We will erect a huge set in Bhutan as well as one in Mumbai. It is a big project and is still in the pre-production stage. There is a lot of research to be done. Right now, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is busy with 3 Idiots. Once that film is wrapped up, Talisman will go on the floors- maybe by the end of 2009. Frankly speaking, we are also waiting for this time of recession to pass before we can start."
Talking about the cast of this big-budget flick, the source says, "Besides Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stars in the film and will be playing a princess. Abhishek is also co-staring and Sanjay Dutt is playing a negative character. Aishwarya's look hasn't been decided on yet but it will surely be very appealing as Chandrakanta is charismatic and physically strong. She will be required to do sword fighting. The role is 90% Aishwarya's but if not, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is in talks with Deepika Padukone too."
Taalismaan is a love story that focuses on war, love and greed for power. The film is directed by Ram Madwani. The promo shoot with Amitabh Bachchan was done last year. It shows Big B in a white costume with long white hair. He is riding a white horse and guiding a battalion of soldiers. One vertical half of his face is covered with a mask.
