MUMBAI : Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is the latest to join the criticism on Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.
The actress said that the film was a grim portrayal of India and Mumbai in particular.

"Obviously it's about the slums. I just feel that internationally recognised films focus more on our slums and poverty. So I just wrote on my blog two days ago that for a chnage I'm doing a film that focuses on the beauty of India and its culture. That'll be interesting to watch as well," said Shilpa.
Shilpa isn't the first one to come out hard on Slumdog's harsh portrayal of Indian slum life. Priyadarshan and Preity Zinta have already voice the consternation over the film's theme and message.
Shilpa is also back in the news again as she bought a stake in Indian Premier League (IPL) team of Rajasthan Royals.
Shilpa Shetty and her business partner and boyfriend Raj Kundra bought about 12 per cent in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Rajasthan Royals Jaipur for $16.8 mn (about Rs 80.6 crore).
"It's a strategic business investment. I always support the underdogs as I am myself one. Rajasthan Royals were the underdogs in IPL before they succeeded (in winning the title)."
After Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Preity Zinta, Shetty is the fourth bollywood celebrity to own a cricket teamhttp://jaibihar.com/shilpa-shetty-joins-slamming-slumdog/3318/
