Now thats just creepy.. I mean they're kids for crying out loud... I have seen just one episode of that show, and it completely disgusted me.. atleast the parents of the actors should say something...
I used to love watching BV, but have stopped watching it for the last few weeks.
What I find really disturbing is that the producers are intentionally or unintentioanlly trying to promote a sort of budding romance between the two kids, Anandi and Jagdish. And this is simply creepy, to say the least! They are barely in their teens!Going by what they had originally planned, Jagdish was to have died by this time and the story would have focused on the life of Anandi and her struggle against the system as a child widow. But taking advantage of the immense popularity enjoyed by the two children, the channel and producers have started out parallel tracks and simultaneously show the growing bond between Jagdish and Anandi. Nothing wrong with that, except that they are flagarating the basic premise of the story...that of the evils of Child marriage. If they show Anandi to be happy and falling in love with her husband later on, wouldn't it send the wrong message to the audience, emphasizing the fact that such a marriage has not only legal and social sanction, but emotional too?Its good that Santu in the story is 18 years old and hence the legal age for marriage in India...what Ekta and Balaji can do is focus on the caste division and then show DM overcoming all that...it would be something progressive, in my view.
