| Friends, sicne Indian Idol is a reality show hence I posted this coverage under this head mala Vox populi: The show must go on | ||
| ||
| Reality shows are fast catching up on Indian television, be it related to music, or dance or whatever. The success of these shows lies in the fact that the audience is able to relate to them. However, there is no escape for those who are not so crazy about them. | ||
| Such programmes are there on every channel. These may be a respite from the monotonous family dramas but the question is that aren't these too are becoming like the others. The shift of focus to these shows, from the regular serials, is a healthy sign of a variety of content and also shows that these are seeming a little beyond the obvious. Another reason why everyone feels a necessity to watch them is that they ensure the participation of viewers. | ||
| At the same time, one might also feel that things are being carried too far. One of the reasons why viewers are attracted to these are the controversies and remarks of the judges. Wherever you go, you can hear people talking or discussing about them, in the buses, at workplaces or at home. One can also read passionate comments and views on these programmes everywhere. | ||
| Reality- based programmes can most definitely be labelled as a new chapter in the world of television. | ||
| The stupendous success of most of them is an example of this. One aspect common to reality shows of course is that they are all competitive in nature. Also, it involves and makes the viewers feel that they too can have a stint with success, fame and money which most people fantasise about. | ||
| All one needs to do is answer those 10 questions correctly and who knows, he/she could end up becoming a crorepati. But I don't see any reason why those who are not benefiting from these shows should end up wasting their emotions and time ceaselessly. | ||
| The reason why we do this is probably because they feel close to the reality which is like a fresh breeze in the monotonous and mundane lives. What they tend to forget is that it's just a TV show. | ||
| The ever-increasing attraction towards these shows is because the contestants are made to take up different challenges and are often put in challenging situations. | ||
| Undoubtedly, these factors produce the most important and phenomenal results. For many, it is a platform for gaining what they could not have done otherwise. | ||
| They also make them believe that they are worth being watched by millions and can have a fan-following like the celebrities. For them the 15 minutes of fame are enough.The fact that they'll be on Television and will have millions of viewers everywhere and the chance to meet their favourite celebrities is a reason that is enough to hold them. | ||
| But this is not the case with common man. Even celebrities nowadays can be seen shaking a leg at shows and competing against each other. Many believe that there should be no end to these game shows, whatever happens, the show must go on. | ||
