Bharat Chawda turns Gujju bhai in Bandini

Bharat Chawda was last seen as Chhotu in Kahaani Ghar Ghai Kii will now be seen as Shashank in Ekta Kapoor's newly launched show Bandini. The young actor says that he loves playing this young Gujarati boy who resembles him a lot of himself in real life.

"I am simply loving it! I am a Gujju guy and this show reflects my culture. Hence I enjoy playing every bit of it. This is one of the major reasons why I took it up also," says Bharat, "I am playing Shashank, a very strong and a positive character who is a photographer by profession. He has come to Gujarat to do research on the Gujarati culture."

Chawda also says that his character in the show closely resembles him in real life too thereby making the show all the more interesting for him.

"Shashank is just like Bharat. He's very talkative just like me and we dress quite similarly too. Looks portray half of your character'they create great impact on the viewers. I've always maintained that my look is different in every show and the same is with Bandini," he adds, "Being a Gujju guy I am very attached to this culture. In the show they've taken many things which reflect my culture in the true sense. In fact in some parts I'll even get to speak Gujarati and that's great! Secondly, the music used in the background is just amazing."

Although Bharat and his lead actress Santu have shared little on screen time, the actor says with a twinkle in his eye that they share great chemistry on and off screen too!

"I share great off screen chemistry with Santu the most. We do lot of masti when we are not shooting," says Bharat.

The young lad has been getting rave reviews for his performance in the show that premiered on Monday night.

"Responses have been really good' People are especially impressed by the background music as it is very different from all the Balaji shows. People actually ask me ki ye Balaji ka hi show hai na and it feels great!"

Awww I agree him and Santu do look like they have a lot of fun offscreen too, so they should show Santu and Shashank only together. LOL!! I m sure DR will live peacefully with memories of his beloved wife.

Yes, even I m shocked that it is BT show, and i m feeling great too

I think this article has more or less proved that Shashank has nothing to do with DR or if so, then they are keeping it a huge secret!😆
Yes, the background music is fabulous and so original! I was half expecting a 'Dholi Taro' or 'Barso Re' to pop up all of a sudden, but they have kept gujrati folk music in the backdrop which sounds really nice!

Hi Biriyani,

Bandini ka main lead Ronit Roy hi hai. Why? Cause, he perfectly fits the bill of main lead of this story according to Ekta, myself and others.

Thanks for the excellent article Sammie! 👍🏼
Although he hasn't had much time onscreen, the character is very good 😊
Also, he looks very different in the pic 😕
I'm curious to know how the role of Shashank will shape up in the near future... I mean, it looks like him and Santo are headed for a pyaar ki kahaani but we all know that Santo is going to become a Bandini at the Mahiyavanshi mansion 😳

And so, Shashank's part in the big picture could be kinda interesting...
God bless.
