Gordon Liu: From Kill Bill to CC2C
Kill Bill actor Gordon Liu who is making his Bollywood debut at the age of 53 with Khiladi Kumar in Chandni Chowk to China. Playing the character of Hojo, Gordon's the villain of CC2C.
Below is an excerpt from the interview:
Did you know that 36th Chamber of Shaolin was a huge hit in India?
I didn't know that 36th Chamber of Shaolin was appreciated in India. I heard about it from Akshay Kumar when we were shooting. He also told me that he has watched the Kill Bill series 20 times before we began shooting. I had tears in my eyes.
How different is Hojo from Gordon?
Hojo is very cunning. He only knows destruction and this character is far different from me.
Before Chandni Chowk to China had you watched any Bollywood movies?
In China also Bollywood movies are appreciated especially the culture which is shown in Bollywood films. There are so many... I really can't recollect but now I will be watching Chandni Chowk to China as it's an Akshay Kumar film
How was it working with Akshay Kumar and have you seen his previous movies?
He is such a wonderful man. He has strong learning power which I saw during the shoot at Great Wall of China and during the 3 months we spent together for the shoot in different places like Shanghai, Beijing. I haven't seen many of his films but I did see his last film Singh is Kinng.

In China, my fans call me Master Killer and so sometimes both of them also used to call me Master or Sir Gordon which really made me emotional.
There are some daring stunts which are done by Akshay and you on the Great Wall of China. Would you like explain those scenes?
Yaa… those scenes were really very difficult to shoot but I must say that Akshay has done unbelievable work and when we were shooting on the Great Wall it was so cold but we did it. Hong Kong based action director Dee Dee Ku guided us… I know him because he has worked with me in Kill Bill.
We also heard that Akshay has promised you to teach you dance..?
It's true! When we were not shooting we used to discuss all this. We also spoke about his martial arts training and how he developed that liking and also how he had been invited to be the chief guest in his own martial arts training school in China.
