Akshay Kumar has hired a chartered flight to attend the seven premieres of Chandni Chowk to China across the globe
Akshay Kumar has hired a chartered flight to attend the premieres of his forthcoming film Chandni Chowk to China. The premieres of the film are slated to be held at seven different venues (see box). Akshay, reportedly will fork out Rs 3 crore for the caper. The actor will be accompanied by his wife Twinkle, his leading lady Deepika Padukone and Nikhil Advani, the director of the film.
Explaining why Akshay opted for a chartered flight, our source says, "The seven premieres are very closely scheduled and it would have been virtually impossible for Akshay, Deepika and Nikhil to make it in time."
Our source adds, "Akshay wants to create a big buzz about Chandni Chowk to China. In today's times, promotional campaigns play a vital role in determining the fate of a film and big actors like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay have a share in the profits of most of their films."
Chandni Chowk to China is inspired by Akshay's own life and his journey from Bangkok (where he worked as a cook) to Mumbai. Our source adds, "The film is very close to Akshay's heart and he wants to leave no stone unturned to promote it."
Currently, Akshay is in Australia shooting for a soft drink commercial. Twinkle is with him. Deepika will join the couple in LA on January 6 and then fly to the other places with them.
