The last time Bollywood actors joined hands it was for a national integration song called 'Miley Sur Mera Tumhara', about 20 years ago. Bollywood actors will unite again for a music video to be produced by BBC World Service Trust, as a part of their HIV/AIDS awareness mass media campaign. The music video will star Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Aishwarya Rai, Viveik Oberoi, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Diya Mirza, Zayed Khan, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Amisha Patel and Rani Mukherji.
To be directed by nine time National Award winning documentary filmmaker Anu Malhotra, the four -minute track will be shot in January in Mumbai. "This is going to be the biggest and costliest music video. Needless to say, none of the actors will be charging any remuneration for their appearance," says Malhotra. The track is composed by Shankar Eshaan Loy, lyrics written by Javed Akhtar, and has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal.
The video will be titled Haath Se Haath Mila. "We want all the major actors for the project because we want people to see the video and understand the message. It's not just about glamour, but about addressing a very serious issue," says Malhotra. This music video will mark the launch of a 16-episode show, Haath Se Haath Mila on DD1.
Yashraj Films has extended their support in getting the major stars for this purpose. Shiamak Davar will be choreographing a sequence in the video too. As for Amitabh Bachchan's presence in the video, Malhotra says, "The shoot is in January and hopefully Mr Bachchan will have recovered by then to shoot."
