Saawariya and Twilight (New Moon!)

I watched Saawariya again last night and could't help but not notice

all you twiight fans who have read the books will know what I am talking about 😉

I am NOT comparing the two, as in which one is better, I jsut can't help but notice the SIMILARITIES!

Raj (Jacob) becomes friends with Sakina (Bella) who is depressed after her lover Imaan (Edward) has left her. Raj (Jacob) falls in love with her, and tries to woo her, but Sakina (Bella) is very much loyal towards Imaan (Edward) and only loves him. Even though for a while Sakina (Bella) thought she loved Raj (Jacob), but still in the end, her love for Imaan (Edward) surpasses all.

In the end Raj (Jacob) gave up and sacrificed for Sakina (Bella).

Now the only major difference was that in saawariya Raj (Jacob) could not find his Renesesme!

Wow, Saawariya, a movie I love, and New Moon, a book in a series that i like are somewhat similar. I never looked at it that way!!! lol. But ya now that you say, i see the similarities!!!

I am yet to read Twilight, but the basic storyline does sound very similar to Saawariya.

Perhaps the author was inspired by Dostrovesky's 'White Nights' and reinvented it with a twist.
