Sameer Soni is back as Purab in Sony Entertainment's Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. It may be recalled that Soni was ousted from the show last November. Speaking from Mauritius, Soni confirmed this latest development. "Yes, it is true that I am back in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.

I got a call from the channel asking if I was interested in making a comeback and I immediately accepted." When asked about the nature of his role this time around, Soni commented, "I don't know which direction the track is going to take, but one thing I'm sure of is that it's going to be even bigger and better this time around."

Samir explains that his character would be reintroduced in Mauritius. "Jassi will be in Mauritius for a work trip," he says, "Purab too will be there for his own work at the same time and our characters will bump into each other." He adds, "Purab is a very popular character and a lot of people were disappointed when my track ended earlier. I was always asked when my character would resurface and now I can tell all my fans that I'm back."

A year ago Purab entered Jassi's life during the time she wanted to get away from Gulmohar House as Armaan (Apoorva Agnihotri) had got engaged to Mallika (Rakshanda Khan). Gradually, Jassi had fallen in love with Purab. But Purab made an abrupt exit in November. While the official version was that Soni had left the show because the character of Purab did not find any place in the original story line of Yo Soy Betty La Fea (the show from which Jassi... is adapted), rumours suggested that Soni's popularity was exceeding that of Apoorva Agnihotri's and Purab needed to go because the eventual track of the serial shows Jassi getting together with Armaan Sir.

One has to wait and see if the original track is changed as a surprise for the viewers and the channel shows Jassi eventually getting together with Purab instead of Armaan. Sameer Soni is currently seen in Star One's Dil Kya Chahta Hai. He is also doing a play called Anything But Love opposite Mandira Bedi. "It is due to the love of the people that I am coming back in the serial," Soni declares.
