Vishwakarma - Lord of Architecture
In Watching the Om Namah Shivaya series, it seems that Parvati Maa was given Lanka as a gift by Maha dev (i believe), and then something went wrong (or someone tired to take it, or touched it etc..). I dont know the exact story, but it ended up with Parvati maa getting mad and cursed the land of Lanka saying that for the rest of time Lanka will always have peril and trouble etc..
I am not 100% sure of the story, but I know in the show Parvati Maa did curse the Land.
Anyone else have the full story?😳
Interesting Story😊, but I heard a different account. In the story I learned, Vishvakarma, or Maya, I don't know which. (Do you guys know if Maya and Vishvakarma are the same?) built Lanka for Kaikasi (Ravan's mother) and her family. Lord Kuber defeated them and got Lanka.
Then Kaikasi married Sage Vishravas, and had three sons and one daughter: Ravan, Kumbhakarn, Vibhishan, and Shurpanaka.
One day, Ravan saw Lord Kuber visit his father in his Pushp Viman, and asked him mother who it was. Kaikasi told him that Kuber was his half-brother, and owned the divine city of Lanka. She told him to defeat Kuber and take back Lanka, as it was rightfully his.
Ravan sent Lord Kuber a message telling him to surrender, but Lord Kuber didn't. So he fought a war, and defeated Lord Kuber, winning back Lanka and the Pushp Viman.
