Out Of Work
26 Nov, 2008 06:00 am ISTlINDIATIMES MOVIES

They were the busiest actors on the block. Some even moved houses closer to the studios because that would save time. But that was then. The current scene for some actors is really bad. After winding up their part in their respective shows, the out of work actors are waiting for that one role that will justify their talent and market status.

Jai Bhanushali: Currently the young actor is on a break. "I can't tolerate sitting idle at home. While shooting for Kayamath I got so addicted to the hectic work pattern lifestyle that, this slow phase is killing me," admits Jai. He says that the offers from various channels and production house are pouring in, "but they're all very boring and I want to do something different."

Divyanka Tripathi: "After a point even the most successful show and highest popularity can make you feel bored," says Divyanka. The Dulhan woman says that she wants to break away from the bhabhi image. She has been away from the arch lights and is desperately trying to return to the grind of the daily shows. "Give me the role and I'm I'll yours," she smiles.

Mouni Roy: Despite playing Jr. Tulsi, she never matched to the popularity of Smriti Irani. Currently, Mouni is jobless but does not mind waiting for that one meaty role that will mark her comeback. Unfortunately, she isn't even the 'in demand' actors on the block. So, the Bengali beauty is chilling as she is on a long break.

Gauri Pradhan: She has the screen presence and the attitude that a true star requires. Gauri has been a hit with the classes and masses. But post Kyunki, the actor has been lying low. "I was working on Kyunki for almost four years. So, I'll use this break constructively." Gauri is in no hurry to get back to the studios. When you have loads of options you can be rest assure.

Manish Goyal: "I've a family to support and house to run. So the break period does get on to my nervous," admits Manish. The man says that he hasn't been getting good roles. "After so many years in the industry one wants to do quality stuff but I think the producers and the writers need to do a bit more brainstorming to come up with unique roles." Goyal confesses being a workaholic. "So this phase can be depressing for people like me," he sighs.
