| Don't cry that it's over, smile that it happened. This is what Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan's sister, Sunaina, steadfastly believes in.
"Abhishek Bachchan said this in a television show, and I completely agree with it," she says. Sunaina has let bygones be bygones in her life. "At the moment, I am enjoying every moment of my freedom," she says.
Sunaina has been through a marriage that went kaput; her second attempt at tying the knot came undone even before the ceremony.
"I have emerged stronger both times," she says. Sunaina was supposed to wed US-based Nick Udaysingh this month.
"Talks were on, and things were almost fixed. I always had this desire to settle down abroad. We were introduced through common friends. But after going there, we learnt some shocking things about him. He had lied to us, and my parents (Pinky and Rakesh Roshan) and Hrithik and Sussanne felt there was no point in going ahead with it."

"We went to Detroit, where he was based, and even had the rokka ceremony. But we realised that there was more to him than what was told to us. And I had this an inkling that everything was not as perfect it seemed.
He lied about his age and there was someone else on his front," she says.
There are, however, still people who congratulate her on her engagement. "I have to tell them it never happened," says Sunaina, who was earlier wedded to Ashish Soni.
Ashish is now married to telly actress-anchor Shonali Malhotra. "That's my past. It just did not work out. We are officially divorced." She has a daughter, Suranika, from the marriage.

Pic: Yogen Shah | "Right now, I am not looking for any new relationship. I have a lot of friends and am happy to be with them." Sunaina is often spotted with her band of buddies on the party circuit. So it came as no surprise to spot her at the opening of Bandra's new nightspot, Poison, on Wednesday.
She was there with actor Anuj Sahani (Naina, Fun2ssh, Nayee Padosan) at the bash.
When asked about her bonding with Anuj, she says, "Yes, we were at the event together. Anuj is a good friend of mine. I have known him for the last two years and we hang out together. I have seen his films and am looking forward to Anuj's next film, Chingari."
But before any eyebrows can be raised, Sunaina clears the air. "Anuj is only a friend. He is married. Please, he is just a buddy. I do go for parties off and on, and have plenty of male friends." At the moment, Sunaina is content playing mommy to Suranika, along with an occasional night out with buddies. |
