Update:
Shankar shows her his bloodied hands and asks her to come home as he can't live without her. A horrified Gayatri drops her thali and backs away as she asks him whose blood it is. Shankar replies Dharma's and looks at his hands as he reminds Gaytri of her words ["One day your hands will be covered in the blood of his loved ones"] and says that he fulfilled his promise to Rudra. Shankar falls on his knees and hugs Gaytri at the waist as he begs her to come back, promising that he will never do a bad thing again. Gayatri pushes him away and hurries inside.
A dejected Shankar starts to walk away but Gayatri stops him. He turns around and is surprised to see Gaytri holding the channi [Heh? Is that what it's called? The thing you see the moon through] and completes her Karva Chauth as slow version of Kya Kehna plays in the background. They hug and Shankar says that he will give everything up. Gayatri says that she will support him every step of the way and says they should go home now.
Singh House…
Rudra goes in to Swati's room who is being consoled by Yasho and Kallika. Rudra tells them that no one will mourn for Dharma. Swati says that she was the one who loved Dharma. Rudra interrupts and says that she's nave and her love was just an infatuation but he should have known better and not taken advantage. What he did was for the best and she'll understand later. Swati replies that he is wrong and her love was right. She gets up to join Dharma but Rudra stops her and refuses.
Swati is insistent and Dharma loses his temper. He forcefully pushes Swati inside and yells Kannika and Yasho to leave before telling Swati that she won't leave the room. He locks the door as Swati bangs on the door and weeps as she says that Dharma didn't betray him.
Downstairs…
SG come in and Gayatri is sad to see Dharma's body. Yasho weeps as she hugs Gayatri and says that Dharma has left them. Yasho breaks down and hugs Shankar.
Later…
SG go to Rudra who is happy to see her back and asks her to again take over the running of the house. Gayatri leaves and Rudra says to Shankar that he is very happy that Shankar fulfilled his promise. He notices Shankar's look and asks what the problem is. Shankar asks the reason behind Dharma's death. Rudra replies that it doesn't make a difference now but Shankar says that Dharma was his younger brother and so he has a right to know.
Rudra tells him that the person he called his brother was betraying them. Shankar protests and says that he could have made a mistake. Rudra says that he knows what he saw. Shankar leaves saying that he has to do Dharma's last rites.
Later…
Family are preparing for last rites as Swati bangs on the door and shrieks at someone to open the door. An anguished Ganga asks if they can't let her out but a weeping Yasho replies that she is being punished for falling in love. Dharma is taken out as Swati says that she also wants to go and begs them to open the door. As everyone leave, Kannika goes up and opens the door before slipping away. Swati rushes out and calls out Dharma's name. The women try to stop he as she protests and tries to get free. Rudra watches from her window. Swati frees herself and rushes after the procession but the gates are closed before she can get out.
Cremation site…
Shankar covers Dharma's face and starts the process [apologies for my ignorance on Hindu cremation]
Singh house…
Kallika says that Rudra is getting out of hand just ordered Shankar to kill Dharma. Shankar was also at fault as he didn't ask any questions but just killed him. They do it purposefully so Swati hears.
Cremation site…
Shankar goes to light the pyre but is stopped by Swati who grabs his hand and glares at him.
Preview:
Rudra tells Gayatri that today she proved that she is still an outsider. He warns her that if anyone from the outside tries to break up his family then they will be thrown out.
