Priyanka is originally from Dehradun, but is pursuing her studies in Delhi. She is a state-level air rifle shooting champ, but it is music that scores over everything else in her life. Incidentally, this is Priyanka's second attempt at Indian Idol-last year she made it till the theatre round-and hopes to hit the bull's eye with the title this year. For Priyanka, her goal is playback singing.

Roshan hails from Kerala, but he has recently settled down in Bangalore. Although he has no family background in music, Roshan has learnt Carnatic music for 12 years and holds a BA in music. Currently he is also refining his ability to play the guitar. His favourite singers are S P Balasubramanium, Mohd Rafi and Sonu Niigaam.

Place: Agartala The petite Sourabhee, who is gifted with a golden voice, is quite unassuming but is a powerful stage performer. Although she has not learnt music professionally, she believes her talent and spirit will win her the audience's love.

Even though Sourabhee's parents are government employees and disconnected from the world of music, they have been supportive of her decision and encouraged her to be part of the Indian Idol 4 journey.

Place: Mumbai Akanksha, who comes from aamchi Mumbai, has been learning music for the last three years from Padmashri Padmaja. This young girl is a bundle of talent and poise, and is a complete stage performer. She has successfully performed at live events—her greatest achievement came when Ghulam Mustafa Khan appreciated her talent.

Place: Varanasi Ananya is Pandit Birju Maharaj and Kishan Maharaj's grand daughter—music and art run in her blood. She has trained professionally in singing and has won various music contests across the country.

Apart from being a good singer, Ananya is also a remarkable Kathak dancer, a music composer and plays the tabla. This young girl has a golden voice and the right attitude that won her the judges' hearts instantly.
