Friends, just wanted to know your opinion on whom do you think is the top singer from the Rock Gharana ?

With regards to the other 3 gharana's it is quite simple and maybe many would agree :

Jai ho - Soumen (he is the only one 😛)

Dhoom - Yashita Yashpal (I feel that she is better than Debo but others may disagree)

Lakshya - Pratibha

But the max complication would be to pick the top singer in the Rock Gharana -

For me it is Vaishali. She has the voice and sings with great control. Infact I wish that the winner is either she or Yashita.

But then its the same with Zaheer, he is an amazing singer.

So whats you take and why ? Zaheer or Vaishali ?

Yaar, I know both are good, but I also know that both cant win nor be in the finals. With 99% surety I can say that there wont be 2 students from same gharana in the finals.

So if you have to choose one of the 2, which one would it be ?

I agree with you. I have the same dilemma for a while - who would end up in the finale from the Rock Gharana, since two from the same gharana cannot be in the finale - it would make the finale round between just two gharanas, and 67% chance of winning for the Rock Gharana.

Personally I prefer Vaishali over Zaheer, because I can connect to her singing and could never connect to his singing so far. He has a good voice, I agree, but there is something missing - at least I feel like that. Also his voice is nothing new - it is quite similar to the already existing singers in the industry. Whereas Soumen has a newer voice and higher pitch than Zaheer.

Among the girls, Vaishali and Prathibha have new voices, whereas Yashita's one is quite similar to many others. This show is about originality, as far as I believe, and that originality means new voice which would be distinguishing from existing ones. It's the voice that will make an outstanding signature for a singer (along with talent of course), and people recognize the singer from his or her voice. If all sound the same, how will you know who is singing and it would not make any difference either...

For me it is huge dilemma to pick one Vaishali or Zaheer.

Both good, also both have disadvantages getting higher no. of votes. One is from Pakistan and another one is a Married female contestant. I feel Vaishali has a little edge over Zaheer as she also has a sad life-story.

Vaishali is very good.

I have gone back on my PVR to listen to Vaishali's songs but have never done that with Zaheer.

Vaishali all the way. My second best is pratibha and third is Yashita.

Vaishali's singing is magical . I have listen to her "Janne Kyon" many times.

Her coming out of extremely dire poverty is a miracle. I am no way choosing her because of her circumstances or sympathy. If she makes no mistakes, she will reach the top.

So true, I agree with you completely. I also like her voice and singing a lot, and it doesnt bother me at all about her past. She can be anyone - rich or poor, handicap or not, her singing is heavenly, and I connect to her singing all the time that it doesnt even come to my mind what she is or was before.

I like Soumen over Yashita though, but it is just a personal preference.
