FOR GOD'S SAKE, JUDGE SAREGAMAP PARTICIPANTS ONLY BY THEIR SINGING SKILLS NOT BY THEIR NAUTANKI SKILLS OR THEIR LOOKS!

There are so many surila singers in India but stll not able to achive sucess. Understand this it is god gift to that Asma is back she has been able to conquer heart of the people is only because of God. Whatever she has achived is because god is with her. She is not an indian classical singer but she is working hard and able to give good performance inspite of all the odds. Such people only goes ahead in life. They are ready to face all criticims, They work hard to achive their goal. Those who are overconfident are left behind. Remember Hair & Tortoise story in which tortoise wins and hair looses the race though hair is considerd to be the one of the most fasttest animal. Same with Asma she is working hard and improvent can be seen in every performance while the other contestent are not been able outdo some of their best performace they have given in past episode.

Let the public decide what they want.
We like a bit of theatre and drama. Asma is like the morning dew gathered upon flowers. You want serious singing without looks then just listen to the Radio or buy a CD. Or watch a documentary.

The program should be run according to its objectives. Saregamapa calls itself "Sangeet" competition not an all round entertainment competition. If it is a sangeet competition, other attributes should not be considered at all. If one wants to allow competitors to get added benefit from their personality/ dancing/ or mimicry skills, better stop calling Saregamapa a singing competition. The original version of Sa Re Ga Ma was truely a singing competition... and it was a very interesting program too! Going by the way this competition is run, even M. S. Dhoni will easily advance a few rounds (if he participates) even if he is does not sing ag all! Even if he were to be chosen by public vote, will the program continue to make any sense??
The way the show is running these days, it does not fit the definition of a singing competition. A participant, with his non-singing stunts can easily hide his/her deficiencies in singing and prevail over not just marginally superior singers, but even over much better singers.

Interesting point. Because of the current show format I think a lot of good classical singers stay away. But the question is whether a pure classical programme will find the audience and sponsers. Reviewing the previous programmes I notice that most of the current singers will not be able to qualify. One good example is Nihira whom I always loved got eliminated for no good reason.
Public vote will never make sense as it is a popularity thing not a sangeet contest.
