Your Name (optional): Lalitha Janaki Kumar
Your favorite book/novel: Pride and Prejudice
Author: Jane Austen
A small summary of your book: Takes place in the late 1700s England, Pride and Prejudice is about the second daughter of five Bennet daughters, Elizabeth Bennet. This story deals with the romantic adventures of the witty Elizabeth and the proud Mr. Darcy, while at the same time making us laugh at the silly antics of Mrs. Bennet and Elizabeth's younger sisters. When Mr. Darcy intervenes in the potential marriage of Elizabeth's older sister, sweet innocent Jane, to his best friend, Mr. Bingley, Elizabeth is sure she will hate Mr. Darcy forever, but when trouble hits the Bennet family in the form of young Lydia Bennet's elopement, it is Mr. Darcy who saves them from dishonor.
Age Group of the Book: 15 and older

Genre(s): 18th century social life, family honor, duty, and romance

It is a great read, and the 1995 mini-television series made on it is absolutely wonderful and follows the book 99.5% accurately!😃 The Elizabeth Bennet actress is Jennifer Ehle and Mr. Darcy is Colin Firth. They did an awesome job, and truely brought out the spirit of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy!😉
