Well, I kind of agree and disagree with the comments here. Maybe the channel showed the clipping last week because she ended up in the bottom three and they wanted the world to know how she strove to get there, beating all the odds. I didnt feel it as a drama honestly, and I respect her humility. I was put off by the drama by Tarun and Sara because they projected so much arrogance and a facial expression as if they are the best and everyone should be voting for them and make them win. And above all that, both are just average singers whereas Vaishali truly qualify in the top five...
Regarding Asma, I never felt it as a drama, but more focused on her "Hindi speaking" and innocence which also adds a touch of comedy. It's done for just keeping the attention of the audience. Though I dont like her singing, I respect her for putting in so much effort to speak and sing in a language that is foreign to her.
Debojit - I never felt any drama with him. If that's drama, then every single contestant have had some sort of drama or other so far. Everyone had either a sob story to talk about or put on some other show - like Faraz talking about his red scarf and his father, Tarun about his sisters, Sara about her family, Jenice about sacrificing a lot to come there, Shashi about leaving home for music, Farid about not contacting his folks, and so on...
It's easy to frown at people who are poor when you are not in their shoes. To understand them, to respect them and to accept them, one has to learn about humility first. And that humility comes from the knowledge gained by knowing the God and appreciating how fortunate one is to be not in the same shoes as theirs!

It was quite rude to say the bold part. If it is so annoying and nauseating, we should be annoyed about a huge percent of our nation's people, and also about all the news clips that shows disasters in different places and the victims of those disasters! What was shown about her was the reality, and that's part of India which we have to learn to accept. By showing faces, it is not going to hide the truth from the rest of the world. Rather we should accept it as part of our heritage and do something to make people like her come out of those situations so that they can help and guide others the same way...

thanks for the BHASAN i suppose.. i cringed at the drama shown on TV. Please don't put words in my mouth, i know there is poverty all over the world and i am not some heartless biarch nor do i live in a shell.. I don't like all these random drama on a singing show, because i don't know if the story is even real or if it is fabricated or made up by Zee TV ..

i also don't like to watch channels and producers making a mockery of serious issues by sensationalizing them. So to me watching that clip was nauseating and I cringed...

You are most welcome! Good to know that you feel for the victims of poverty all over the world. Keep it up. 👏 Putting words in the mouth - it appears to be a mutual feeling.
I didnt feel it was a mockery. Most of the music producers in bollywood will have a similar story to tell, and I have never seen anyone using that to create any sensation. They have become famous solely because of talent and not of hardships in the past, which I believe would work for Vaishali too.

By airing Vaishali's story, Zee TV has only been fair. Of late, Zee has been airing sob stories of other participants too (Poonam Yadav, 2 years ago that participant from Himachal who ran a tea shop etc etc). So, it is only fair that Zee TV has given Vaishali to air her story. Besides, there is little doubt that she is indeed very talented and so far as singing skills are concerned, easily deserves to be amongst the top layer in the present participants.
If Zee had been selective in telecasting these sad stories, they can be blamed for being partial, but I think they have been consistent in this respect.

Yes this is a difficult issue actually. I rad naudhad, Madan Mohan and many others saw grey pacthes in their life and few of them got recognition only after death (R D Burman). I think it is not wrong to show a part of their life but it should not be done in a way to arouse sympathy. I would conclude it is fine to know about them in person, in the right way.
