Discussion of the week

As we saw yesterday, the judges rated SS (Sur and Sree) No. 1 and SV (Shama and Vinod) as No. 2. Whereas MH (Mona and Bhajji) shared No. 3 spot. Then audience voted and the scene changed. MH became No. 1 and shared the spot with SS.

Today's show began with Shama asking the audience to please vote based on the dance and performance. In between the lines, she said, popularity is one thing and performance is another and the best deserves to win, irrespective.

On this we saw an irritated Bhajji, who tried to defend his stand and said audience have a right to do what they want and they are the best judge.

Now we have seen many reality shows where again and again and again we have seen people voting on the basis of their likeness and popularity of the contestant rather than performance. When Mona won Jhalak Dikhla Ja season one, people said Shewata was a better dancer, but Mona won beacuse she was Jassi. When Prachi won Jhalak Season 2, people said and the judges of the show (Urmila and Shamak) made very clear that sandhaya was a better dancer but Prachi won because of her popularity as Bani.

So the discussion is:

  1. Do you really think people vote on the basis of popularity and personal choices rather than performance??
  2. Do you think Shama made a valid point?
  3. Do you think Bhajji over-reacted and took the point personally, whereas Shama didnt take any names.

So, what say friends ... lets begin the discussion.

Enjoy,

Kashish 😊

Kashish I think in this case Popu;arity comes in front and also performance !1 Espically with Mona I just fel she is lucky and popularity vote and performce vte are neck to neck !!
Do you think Shama made a valid point?

She did and it was poointing to popularity !!! but viewers vote can turn tables on the score board!!!

Yes he did .. I felt he was right in a way since they were in thirdposition but he shud'nt have meant it on himself personally !!

Nowadays reality shows are not choosing real talent, it is practicing 'neopotism'. Whatever reality shows you watch, you will know unfairness is happening everywhere!
After finding out from the recent articles that Mona Singh won this competiton, am like, Ugh Another biased show! I have nothing against Mona, I loved her a lot as Jassi in JJKN, but I think its the name and fame that brought the attention to her to win the competiton. Even in JDJ S1, Mona Singh won when the most derseved winner was supposed to be Shweta Salve! The only reason she won, was coz of her Jassi fame. Not to forget JDJ S2, when Prachi won the show only because of her Bani fame. Even in other shows such as Indian Idol, we didnt really expect Prashant to win the competiton as there were much much better singers then him. But alas, he won! Almost all shows are biased! No true talent is being able to emerge and outstand itself like a winner and instead others are stealing the spotlight

Hmmmmmmmm food for a thought Kash.......
Here's my take on your specific Q.
Do you really think people vote on the basis of popularity and personal choices rather than performance??
Totally.....Absolutely...Unquestionably!!
It's popularity over talent any day..........
Why just reality shows.....both reel life and real life has enough examples to prove that everyone who is talented is not popular or successful...
and everyone who is popular and successful is not necessarily talented!
Having said that....one cannot totally discount the fact that we have had some practically unknown people becoming winners in the past of some reality shows.
It's a decent amout of talent.....with how you relate to your audience........
and how you potray yourself......
All this counts.........but then it all comes down to how popular that makes you.
You can not WIN ANY contest on the basis of just talent.
People who vote for you have to like you!
And that is called popularity!
Do you think Shama made a valid point?
Yes she did! But here is my take.....once you are in these sorta shows...you already know that...and should accept that...!
Making Public statements during the show is not helping anyone here.
Do you think Bhajji over-reacted and took the point personally, whereas Shama didnt take any names.

Ahhhhhhhh...Bhajji.......hehehe....our Drama King!

Of-course it's his birth right to react......
Over react????....nahhhhhhhhh.........😛😆
Anything singh is king does is his birth right.........(see popularity syndrome!!!) 😆😆

Arre totally......
He will be the creatives fav to script out all the high drama scenarios......😆
Our Ippu Pathan will be the thanda low key person.....dekhana he will exit very quickly.
But Sur and Mona with their respective partnerss are going to final.
Both are stunning and very popular PLUS both have very popular khiladis with them!

    >Yes, without any doubts! It is happening everywhere and in every reality show.
Do you think Shama made a valid point?
    >Yea she did, but still, why bother banging your head against the wall when no one is gonna change. The "policy" of voting for the popular stars is never going to end. It is just better to keep quiet and keep giving your best performance😊
  1. Do you think Bhajji over-reacted and took the point personally, whereas Shama didnt take any names.
    >Well Bhajji Singh is Kinng and is the Drama King in this catergory😆
Indeed he over-reacted at this matter and he knew that is was his and Mona's names Shama was "trying" to indicate, that is how he must have thought.
