Hey Guys,
In today's newspaper (DC) there was a article on how Monica has lied abt her marriage to Abe Salem in BB.She said she is not married but the paper claims that they have proof that she married to Salem for a mehar of $ 5000 to Salem. Paper also claimed that she wrote love letters to Salem from the Portugal jail they both were imprisoned in.This'll mean that she lied to everybody and was not truthful abt her past to other housemates. What do you guys think ?

Mumbai, Sept. 14: Monica Bedi, during her 21-day appearance on the TV reality show Bigg Boss, may have gone to town claiming she never married gangster Abu Salem, but this newspaper has in its possession documents which show she not only married Salem for a mehr of $5,000, but even wrote very filmi letters to him while both were in Portuguese jails. In fact, Bedi very clearly tells the police, according to the Portuguese police report, that they should not touch the $5,000 as the money is her "marriage money" and is dear to her. Bedi, along with Salem, was arrested in Lisbon in September 2002 for possessing fake passports and documents. Bedi, in her statement given to the Portuguese police, has said that the $5,000 found in her home by them was her husband's wedding present (mehr) when they contracted the religious marriage, as is a custom in Islam. The Portuguese police investigation report states: "She met her husband about four years ago (in 2000) in Dubai. They took to living together, and later, in November 2000, she married him in the US, where they resided for some time." The report adds: "From the Americas they went to Dubai again, and from there to Switzerland after they received a threat from the Indian mafia." What could be damning for Bedi is the part of the report that says, "She is aware that her husband had, in time, connections to some elements of that mafia, and they had reported him to the Dubai police authorities." While Bedi has claimed several times that she was not in touch with Salem after he was arrested in Portugal in 2002, documents clearly show this was not the case. Bedi used to meet Salem in jail every week and wrote mushy letters to him, some running into 10 pages, and some of which are in the possession of this newspaper. The letters clearly show that Bedi was married to Salem and had also converted to Islam of her own accord. |
It is very sad that we all are so selective when it comes to what we choose to believe. On the one hand everyone is ready to call Monica a liar for not coming clean relating to her "marriage" to a mobster. On the other no one wants to believe her when she has been repeatedly screaming from the roof top that she had no idea what Abu Salem did for a living when she first met him. That she tried to run away from him on a number of occasions when she learned his true identity. That his people brought her back each time she tried to run by never allowing her to access to her passport.
Maybe she really did not know what Salem did for a living. Maybe she was forced to marry the guy by her own ignorance or external pressure. Maybe she was stupid enough to believe and fall for the facade and the razzle dazzle she witnessed in Dubai at a young age as a struggling starlet. Lets face it, Abu Salem is a nice looking guy even if he is a die hard criminal. Have the folks who blame her not read Mario Puzzo's Godfather or seen the movies. Or failed to see Ram Gopla Verma's movies, Company or D Company to see what goes on in the underworld. How the mobsters treat their women? None of these books or movies is the result of the authors or producers overactive or fertile imagination. This is hard core and real stuff.
I empathize with Monica and all the more after watching her on Bigg Boss. The Indian newspapers and TV channels are looking to sell papers and ads and they are quite capable of manufacturing whatever suits their convenience to make a quick rupee!!!
