Guduvanchery is teeming with people who follow Vaathaanandhi -
while the original vaathu is busy warding off daddy gander - " appa,
do not spend your non-existing money on advocates to get me out.
Truth will prevail" Daddy gander has no clue as to how truth will take
the witness stand !!! (Roja sings - amma amma kozhakkattaikki
kannum undO di??? amma amma Kozhakkattai kki kathum undO di??
- Pillayaar chathurthi is over but Roja is still harping on the kozhakkattais!!)
Daddy ganderis totally confused and decides to fall at any foot that is
available. Calls JG for support but he is not game - 2 reasons - one,
he is a vaathanadhi follower and so all what she says is
vetdha vaaku for him. And, no two, he is busy looking for the
fellow follower Bharath (atta girl, this Rekha knows exactly how
capable JG is!!) So DG goes to find feet to fall .

Radha and Rekha are busy getting a pedicure - Vaathanandhi
graced their dreams and told them that some one is looking
out for those feet - "make sure to have them attended - the
camera might zoom on them" Bingo DG arrives - falls at those
feet and holds them - mom and daughter can not move -
suddenly DG sees the nail polish which is bright red in color -
the nail polish serves as Bodhi maram - DG gets gnanam -
Some one whispers in to his ears " tell them that A.Malai is still
very much alive - Tell them that Rekha's rash behaviour irritated
Soma and he is holding A.Malai in his custody. Tell them that the
only person who can release him is Vaathanadhi and she has
to get out of her prime kambi counting avocation" - DG is in a
trance.... can not do ammanO saamiyO as he does not have long hair
- but still has a glazed look and recites - verbatim....

Radha is excited about hubby being alive but the intelligent Rekha
is not ready to believe such absurd predictions - smartly chides
mummy that DG is acting up to somehow get his daughter out.
DG has an upper hand now and so releases their feet - having
some genes of Vaathanadhi he imparts knowledge " OK , get
Vaathandhi out and see if she can get A.Malai released. If she can
not , then u can always send her back to abacus training, say what??"

Mommy and daughter are thinking......

Next we see Radha mommy rolling on the floor. DG thinks
that she is doing "anga pradakshinam" and so makes sure
that there is enough space for her to roll around him - aww
no, she throws a tantrum so that Rekha will accept DG's
proposal!!!! Santhosh looks at granny rolling, thinks that it
some game and so joins granny !!! Now Rekha has no option
and so agrees with reluctance. The great lawyer is summoned
and Rekha orders him to get Vaathanandhi out. The man is
totally confused but agrees to do the needful. To cut a long
story short, Vaathanandhi gets out.

DG is outside the prison gate with an orchid garland (aww
must have stolen from Roja's ears!!) A huge crowd is
cheering - " jail il irunthu thirumbi vetriyodu varum engal
thanga thalaivi ...vaaazzzzhhhhaaaa" Vaathanandhi (VA
for short) is all smiles - a podium is ready and she gets
on top - chants "Satyameva Jeya de" and doles out stories
from Silappathigaram, Harishchandra Puraanam et al.

Radha mommy is all excited and instantly becomes a devotee.
VA greets Rekha -"Rekha amma nalla irukkingalaa?"
Rekha is keyed up as well " unakku life imprisonment
vaangi kuduthaa thaan na nalla iruppen. Get my daddy
released and then I will start all over again with a new complaint"
As usual Rekha bites every word and spits.

DG and JG are beaming... Massu cat is watching from a corner...
kadu kadu senior keeps hitting her jaw on her shoulders-
means she disapproves ...creep is aghast .... Santhosh
gives a nice smile..... VA descends from the podium and
goes straight to Soma's office. Soma and the manager
hide the jangiri .... Manager knows when he is beaten..
stands near the door ..ready to flee ... manages to watch the
drama as well....

VA goes to the bath room . Rekha shouts " Kasthuri , nee
toilet velai ellam apram pannalaam. En daddy enge??"
VA again smiles ( deiveega sirippu nnu ninaippu!!
duck mouth smile thaan!) Goes in to the bath room
bingo...A.Malai is lying in the tub ...fully drunk... the
accompanying police officer is stunned - "awww, he
is alive...." Rekha screams in delight...Radha mommy
caresses the bald head.... Soma looks sheepish......
A.Malai blabbers..." hey Soma, give me some more soma
bhanam da.... yennoda ponnu and wife thollai thangame
I am hiding nnu kaatti kudukkathey..."

The police officer arranges for some rope ... one end gets
tied to A.Malai's leg...the other end is given to Radha mommy..
Rekha, the manager, DG, JG and the police officer lend
support - tug of war... - police officer gets carried away
and sings "yelelo aila sa yelalo ai la sa.." Radha mommy
accompanies "anh anh apdi pidi, hey hey azhuthi pidi..."

A.Malai is dragged out of the tub - finally!!! The police officer
gets ready with some paper and pen -inquiry nadatha -
Soma pulls the paper and pen from his hands and says
"yovvv, aam uum nna paper um kaiyumaa varringaa?
Naanum avanum close friends... thanni poda veet le
not possible so inge adikkalaam nnu vanthaan......
had too much and has been lying in the tub for the past
10 days"

The audience are spell bound.. Rekha sings "daddy daddy
oh my daddy, unnai kandaale aanadham mee " Radha
for her part sings "yen purusan theennn , enakku mattum
thennnn" Jothi does a dappanguthu....... VA still has that smile......

Roja screams..... Mr.Roja pours a bottle of ice cold water
on her head - he is extremely mad ..his beauty sleep is
disturbed ..."intha karaavi serial laam pakkathey nnu
sonna kekkariyaa??? artha rathrile enna di koothu ithu??
If i ask, you say that u have to update!!! Just wait and watch,
PC ai thookki pottu odaichidaren..." Roja gives a sheepish
smile and sings "darling darling darling, i love u love u love u"
Mr.Roja pat pat pat nn nethile adichukkaraar - " nalla neram
parthiye ithai solla... nee thoongatta vidu, na thoonganum,
tomorrow is a working day" - pulls the comforter and
instantly goes back to sleep ...Roja sits on the bed....blinking...😉

Roja, that was just too good👏

If only all the serials had such fun in them, instead of all the crying and fighting and arguing, not to mention the pottu thallufying, we would also be enjoying them a lot more. But these can only be pipe dreams.

Vani, Giri, Siva, Isai and other Thirumathi Selvam viewers -
I enjoy all your inputs . I do not watch that serial but can
understand the frustration from u all - it is another one of
those, eh??? hmmmm
