This drama is about Urmi who is all of 18 with the mental ability of an eight-year-old. Her parents worry about this problem child while her brother and sister-in-law see her as a burden. Only her sister, Manali, adores Urmi. The two are very attached, to the point that Manali refuses to get married in case she will have to abandon her little sister. Until she meets Aadesh. Aadesh persuades Manali to marry him by promising to take care of Urmi forever. Will Aadesh be able to keep his promise of 'forever'?

Episode One: Manali's marriage with Aadesh is finalised as Billo Mausi informs Shastriji. Billo Mausi tells Poonam that the groom's family are quite unaware of Urmi's mental state. So, just as the engagement party is about to begin, Poonam locks Urmi in the terrace room. But Urmi manages to escape and reaches the party just when Aadesh is about to place the engagement ring on Manali's finger. Not quite aware of her surroundings, Urmi starts yelling at Poonam for locking her in. When Neelam tries to stop her, Urmi hits her hard with a paperweight. Neelam's head starts bleeding while the guests watch on in shock.
