I feel the same way about Anjali sometimes, too. I love Atul to death, I really do...But I think that the way his character has changed from an environment-conscious doctor to a guy who feels that he has to change himself and try so hard to impress the girl he loves is partially to blame here.
The Atul at the beginning of this show could stand up for himself and gave witty comments back to Anjali. He didn't care if people thought he was strange for talking to his plants or anything like that. He was emotional and caring. But now he's been stripped of those things that made him so unique from all the other characters, including his amazing insight.
I think Anjali started warming up to him because of his sincerity and his friendliness...And then around March's epis, the creatives probably decided to stray from too much seriousness and then AA's relationship became extremely rocky...Earlier, I justified Anji's behavior by saying that she's completely professional at the hospital, but less icy away from work. Now, like you said, she definitely puts her career first, but she's like a ticking time-bomb when it comes to Atul. We can only hold our breath and see what happens.
Those few classic AA scenes blow me away every time I see them! And I think all the credit goes to PaNa for making those situations into pure magic! Even if there was no romance in the track, the way that they interact and respond to each other is so perfect that they make AA look like such a sweet couple. It's so ironic that they are going absolutely nowhere right now.
Aaaah, I wrote an essay...What to expect? I'm a true-blue diehard AA/PaNa fan!
