'I'm fine if people call me Riddhima'

All of 20 and Sukirti Kandpal is already being courted by one of the most wanted men on small screen.

From playing the lead in Jersey No 10 to being the new Riddhima in Dil Mill Gaye, Sukriti's life is on a roll. She's not working round the clock and has chosen to devote time to doing one show instead. Not for her zooming from one set to another. "I have just started working as Riddhima. I want to do justice to this show. I want to get settled in the show. Anyway, I don't have the time for another show at the moment," she says.

Replacing Shilpa Anand wasn't much of a challenge for her. "It was something new for me. I went ahead with it. I am glad the audience has accepted me. Even my co-stars have made me feel comfortable. They never compare me to Shilpa. Karan Singh Grover with whom I have the maximum scenes has also helped me a lot. Even the script was moulded, so I got the chance to build up a chemistry with Karan."

She has no problems when people call her by her reel name. "I am absolutely fine if people call me Riddhima. I think it is a good feeling if the audience connects you with your character."

If not an actor, Sukirti would have been a lawyer or social worker. "I have done a lot of social work. I always want to help the needy and enjoy doing it too."

This fun-loving and jovial girl has been a school topper and has a bright academic career ahead by the looks of it. "I have been a topper for a few years. But I couldn't continue to keep up to it in the last year as I started acting. I feel it is very important for a person to study as an educated person looks at things differently, is more sharp, sensible and has his own ideology," she says.

Whenever I think of Riddhima only shilpa comes to my mind, she is such n angel that its tough to imagine anyone else in this role.. but I wont take away Sukriti's credits either. The girl is doing an awesome job, only if she could get rid of the wig, and the dubbing in some scenes.

u people will never change ......shilpa has gone and why u all are after her and always taking her name in each and every matter.......if she is telling that she likes to be called as ridimma well wats ur prob guys may be some people might have calle dher like dat...if shilpa has fans so as suku will aslo be having fans rt.....its just an article and dere is no need to compare shilpa here ....i liked shilpa to the core when she was dere before not b'cse she is shilpa b'cse she is ridimma and now i like suku not b'cse she is suku one and only b'cse she is ridimma now.....learn to move on .....i think this comparison will never stop.......🤢

when eithere replacement or remake happens , comparison will always be there . i think that needs to be understood by people.
