Sanjay Gupta proved right

It was close to a year back that Sanjay Gupta had challenged the script of MISSION ISTANBUL. Calling it an absolute 'trash', he had criticized Apoorva Lakhia severely for his choice of MISSION ISTANBUL before the filmmaker started shooting for the film. This had resulted in Suneil Shetty being upset with Sanjay Gupta since the former was going to produce the action thriller which recently released at the theaters and disappeared without a trace in two weeks flat. Though Gupta didn't budge from his stand even as Shetty made his displeasure clear about his remarks about the film, it is quite obvious that Gupta has been proved right.
A year back, Suneil Shetty had commented - ''I am upset and annoyed that Gupta called my film trash when he has no idea what the film is about. If it was really so bad as Gupta calls it why would stars like Abhishek, Vivek and Zayed choose to be part of it.''
However, the fact remains that while Abhishek was mainly seen in an inconsequential song-n-dance appearance, Vivek chose to stay away from the film's promotion. And now, it is common news that the film has taken a severe beating at the box office with its script coming for maximum criticism.
Majority of reviews have been unkind to the film while challenging the basic pretext of MISSION ISTANBUL, hence justifying Sanjay Gupta's stand on the film which was quite bitter but at the end of the day, honest and true.
