it seemed to me last nyt dat monica went thru alot of hurdles in life. both shilpa and rahul roy were talking abt it. i was wondering wat actually happened in her life? was she in some kind of accident or had a career crisis❓ any1 here has any info...she seems kinda familiar to me but i cant place from where😕

well i dunno much .......juss know tht she was the wife/luver (not sure) of the famous underworld don abu salem! sum 6-7 yrs back ...she also got caught with abu salem and was jailed .regarding sum offence.........untill she was on trial ..................after 5 yrs ...she got released ..last yr .............now her trial got over i.e she declared innocent or .....she is on bail ....i really dunno

Monica Bedi (born January 18, 1975, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India) is an Indian actress and companion of gangster Abu Salem. He used his influence in Bollywood to get her acting roles in Bollywood productions. Their companionship was an example of the underworld-filmdom nexus between Mumbai and Bollywood.

In September 2002, she was arrested along with Abu Salem by the Lisbon police for entering Portugal with forged documents. After years of legal battle, they were deported to India in November 11, 2005, after India promised Portugal that Salem would not receive death sentence.

On 29th September 2006, an Indian Court convicted Monica Bedi for passport forgery. CBI had filed a case against Bedi under section 420 (cheating), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and section 12 of the Passport Act for procuring a passport on a fictitious name.

Bedi was acquitted of all criminal charges by a Bhopal court on July 16 2007 due to lack of evidence against her. Yet another case for possessing a passport from Hyderabad on forged documents in the name of Sana Malik is pending in a Hyderabad court. The Hyderabad Court however denied her bail in the case as she failed to produce her original passport. Monica said she lost her passport in Dubai. On July 25 2007 she was released from the Chanchalguda Central Jail and was received by her father Prem Kumar Bedi. She said that she planned to make a comeback to films and claimed to be getting offers from both Bollywood and the Telugu film industry.

Although Bedi had grown up in Norway, she is not a Norwegian citizen. On 2005, her application for a residence permit was rejected by the Norwegian immigration authorities.

On 17 Aug, 2008 (telecast date), Bedi was ushered into the Bigg Boss house as one of the 14 contestants in the second season of the Indian version of Big Brother.

@Bugger and peachesnplums: thanx guys for the info. in my wildest dreams i didnt think of a drastic thing like this. she must hav gone thru with so much..i cant imagine how she must hav dealt with all this.. hopefully bigg boss wil act as a healing process for her...

i remember in last season one of the contestants had 2 leav due to some legal issues (cant remember his name now)...i thought its against bigg boss rules to hav a contestant who r in legal battles or is it only wen they hav court cases?

she seemed much aged than her 33 years. life sure wasnt dat kind to her😔

@i5hy:Last year Salil had to left the show bcoz Ekta had filed a case against him that he is participating in the show without giving any prior notice to her.

Yup Shruti last time Salil had to leave, they can or infact have to leave in case of legal problems. In event of court hearing or legal cases production houses themselves would be out of legalities and getting BB house being invaded by cops.
