the only thing i can think of...is that oil moistens n greases ur hair...making it wet....THEREFORE with ur hair appearing wet...it will always appear darker than when it's completely dry....so no worries

also w/highlights...if ur hair is colored...it will eventually fade...so i wouldn't panic...i don't think oil will effect it....i use oil spray for my hair sometimes which keeps it healthy and smooth..but my hair does end up looking a shade darker b/c it retains moisture....but it doesn't actually change the color, just makes it appear that way
