yeah Ravan was the same actually at that time they live unlimited types, Ravan was on his highest position at the time of Dashrath and Kaushalya marriage. He kidnapped Kaushalyaji to stop this marriage as he knew their son wld be the one who cld kill him.

Ramayan is mainly story of Ram n Sita. its a story of their life n journey. chhaya sita n Vedvati story was added later because they wanted to show that real sita was not touched.
