Sony Entertainment Television going great guns

Sony is all set to attack its rivals from all corners and at all levels with its 4 new soaps and reality shows i.e. Indian Idol 2, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Deal Ya No Deal and Kudkudiya House No. 43. All the four programs are well advertised and look great on initial reviews. Sony claims that these four will take Sony Entertainment Television into a different league.
Sony is providing a very good platform for 'Ek Ladki Anjaani Si' by placing it in 9 pm slot just after Indian Idol and Deal Ya No Deal with Kudkudiya House No. 43 following it. 8 to 10 pm slot is considered as the most fertile slot and sony is attacking it from all corners. It seems a well-planned attack with initial attack being carried forward by hugely popular Fame Gurukul.
Sony is advertising all its above programs but considers Indian Idol as its best bet. Thus it is pushed in a great way by advertising on Sony and partner channels like NDTV, Ten Sports, MTV, Max, Sab and AXN, road shows and celebrities like Anu mallik, Farha, Sonu Nigam and Abhijeet Sawant doing rounds of metros and mini metros. Sony is also advertising on Vividh Bharati of All India Radio across the country with FM radios like Radio Mirchi, Red FM, Radio City etc.
Sify has been selected as the Internet partner and will maintain the Indian Idol website. The website will relay live broadband for the content of the past episodes. Radio City will be broadcasting Indian Idol 2 on radio in major metros. Headlines Today and Aaj Tak are channel partners for the show. Hindustan Times & Loksatta have been selected as the print partners.
Airtel has been chosen as the service provider for Indian Idol 2 mobile marketing. Airtel is also a co-promotions partner for the auditions that was recently held across India. Sony claims that it has got over one million registrations for its coming show..
Besides, a variety of opinion polls will also be conducted from time to time, limited to Airtel users.Date of this item added : 2005-11-23
