Has JJWS become a dead show..??

Do you find JJWS appealing, do you think this has sufficient singing talent to draw your attention or give you goosebumps..? Is day to day tamasha and drama overtaking the purpose for which the show started..?

I think the inception of JJWS itself was debatable, picking up people whom we have seen time and again many times on TV don't add up to the excitement (you don't flog an old horse) and above all judgement has been horrible from the beginning. Not to mention blatant favouritism practiced by judges. Selection of judges itself has reduced the show to a farce many people have doubted their capability to judge and going by their background other than Shekhar no one has any exposure to classical music.

Then factors other than singing have been promoted and overall the emphasis is on creating saas bahu type drama than finding a superstar. We have an anchor here who has no connection with music.

I feel we have abundunt talent in our country and there is no need to look back, these guys already had sufficient exposure and now it's up to them to prove.

I also want to mention that I don't see much of improvement in most of the singer over time, one or two difficult song and they start shaking, most of the singers are inconsistent, limited in their genre and judges have no problem in this.

Does this all mean JJWS has become a dead show?

I agree with each and every point you made... Specially would like to comment on the idea of having old faces fight again - its not exciting at all as in the case of fresh talent... And as you say, they have had sufficient exposure and it is up to them now to prove... The shows these days are watched by all big names in the industry and I feel just one chance in such shows could prove quite sufficient for exceptional talent... But if in 3 years they still cant get a hold except for one or two songs here and there, I dont see any much hope in future too...

well, acc to me bringing back old (maybe itz not the rite word for it but still)contestants back, was a good idea. old is gold.

the judging has been horrible throughout the show. and i must say tht itz not a particular judge who has been biased every judge hs disappointed me in different episodes.

as far as the improvement in singing is concerned. i think there has been improvement in singing as well as attitude. some hv become more sophisticated.

on the other hand sme contestants r learning to act n do arrogant stuff in the show . tht is not acceptable. so acc to me some contestants r learning n otherz r being exposed VERY BADLY. this part is very hurting . itz for TRPS or to fool the viewers ,i dnt knw. bt if it is for personal gain like TRPS then the show is crap.

there r many shows like indian idol, svoi etc in which new talent is gvn chance so JJWS 's format is nice bt the evens taking place in the show r not acceptable. like fiting, eliminating gud contestants, forcing contestants to select songs of the channelz choice.

Indradhanushji absolutely on point. If they really wanted to make this a search for a superstar then Hemu, Nihira and all the following people should have been included in the compitition:

Hrishikesh Ranade, Dr. Neha, Karunya, Sharib, Raja Hassan, Onik Dhar, and all the winners of Indian Idol. Phir doodh kah doodh aur pani kah pani hohta.

I dont think so... The excitement on watching them the first time is different... And moreso, I have been disappointed by the way some of them have gone down in this time... I wud rather remember them as they were in their original shows than to find them turn mediocre...

I can only pray they have not gone down, see if you look back into Hindi singing we always had great singers who couldn't make it big like Suresh Wadekar, Sadhna Sargam , Suman Kalyanpuri and others..this doesn't mean they are not great.

I hope some of the current names also go down in the memory lane like this but hard work is missing and every one wants to sing like Kishore da ( born genius) or Mohd Rafi not realising their dedication and hard work.
