While at the outset it focuses on the traditional 'good vs. evil' theme, 'Vijay – Desh Ki Aankhen' drives home the core values of pride in one's motherland and an almost idyllic patriotism. The 'Vijay' team exists as a parallel security agency with the knowledge & consent of the government. Colonel Ranjit Singh is an experienced ex-RAW officer who has put together a team of 6 trained young men to watch the country's borders and combat any terrorist threat.
The arch-villain is Dinaro (also an ex-armyman and former colleague of the Colonel's) who now works as a mercenary, heading a terrorist nexus that carries out bombings and anarchy for a price. Even as Dinaro threatens the nation's peace, the 'Vijay' team strives to overcome these threats and invariably thwart his plans.
