after jiya suggests appu that they shd run away, appu looks at her and without a word gets up from the bed and walks away, jiya keeps looking at him with her eyes almost filled with tears and confusion at his silence.
next morning appu is lying on his bed(yes he is back to jiya's place) and is listening to some music, jiya comes to him with expectant eyes, sits before him and repeats what she had said earlier abt running away, she says they will go some place where they can be with each other, where appu can be her 'sahara', may be among the hills or beside a river or perhaps somewhere near the sea and she gets dreamy. appu tells her that he will meet her at rehearsel and then they will talk, jiya tries to disagree but he says firmly they will talk then. right then mahesh starts calling jiya.
barkha has gone to RAD, she walks down the corridorr thinking abt her moments with appu, abt jseeing jiya and appu together and then abt samar telling her that she ws juat a pawn for him and she gets disturbed.
back at jiya's place, mahesh gets restless as jiya is taking time to come and asks dadi if she has gone out. dadi tells him to just chill, where will jiya go, she is just coming and as mahesh starts complaining jiya comes to him. he then enthusiastically starts showing jiya old pictures, when he and ballu were kids and all.....ballu and his wife's pic at the time of their marriage.......jiya manages to fake a smile in answer, then he shows a kid's pic saying it ballu's son(i think his name is golu, i dont remember clearly though) and that he is very handsome and all. looking at the kid's pic jiya doesnt know what to say. dadi takes the pic and says where is the handsome guy he ws talking abt, at this mahesh gets embarassed as its an old pic. he orders jiya to put all these photos in frames and he will display them all over the house........dadi taunts him saying wow what a thought instead of putting up pictures of his family is all energetic abt displaying photos of some outsider. at this mahesh starts thinking something.
barkha is back at her room, she is sitting spread legs on her bed, old scenes are being replayed - when appu ws with her, when they had icecream, when they danced, when he touched her face, then AJ scenes were played, when appu asked jiya if she loved him, when jiya left appu tellin shecant danced and appu shouting that he can never dance without her, when AJ were dancing at audition, when jiya's name ws announced the way he hugged her, when appu fought with samar, and then when samar told her that that he used her as a pawn, appu's face when he lost to samar................barkha can nt take it any more, she stands up and goes to her drawers, takes out the bottle having sleeping peels, she takes a lot of pull in her palm and looks at the glass of water. downstairs rohan and kiran are talking abt production when they hear a crashing noise. they run upstairs thinking something may have happened to barkha.kiran takes the pills from her and asks her what she s thinking. barkha looks away and says she cd nt sleep so she ws abt to take sleeping pills. kiran said so many? barkha asks her to leave her alone and pushes her hand away and pills fall on the floor, rohan tries to calm teh atmosphere, kiran takes the pills from the floor and puts it in the bottle, rohan takes one pill and tells barkha that she ws saying she cd nt sleep, so here take one pill.......barkha refuses......kiran rushes from there and rohan follows her.............kiran is all tensed and shaken after the event, rohan tells her barkha is a kid, she is thinking with her heart and now a storm is raging inside her heart, once she gets over it and starts thinking with her mind all this will be behind her and she will be normal. kiarn with tear-stricken face says it took her a long time to win barkha's trust and she doesnt want to lose her, what if it gets too late, today she ws going to take such a huge step............rohan promises her that he will not let barkha go away from her.
an old acquaintance of mahesh comes to his place and asks him what ws that urgent matter that mahesh wants to discuss with him. mahesh inquires abt his mama who lives in a some paticular locality of london and asks if he knows lot of ppl. the man replies that his mama got a huge showroom and there is no NRI in london who doesnt know him. but mahesh insists that whether his mam knows ppl. the man replies in affirmative. he says there is businessman named balwinder chaddha, he wants him to ask his mama to gather details abt this person. at this time jiya comes with a cup of tes and biscuits for the guest. mahesh introduces her to the man. he gets confused seeing jiya and tries to figure out if she is the girl whom he had seen on tv. jiya leaves unsuspecting and when he tries to confirm from mahesh, mahesh stops him and says that this work is emergency and he wants him to gather all information soon, he says that he will call tonight only but why is this sudden spying on chaddha, mahesh avoids the question.
its a dark half-lit room, some music is being played on a music system and rohan s discussing some steps with appu when jiya comes in. appu turns and sees an all smiling jiya dressed in white, looking like an angel stepping forward..........he walks towards her, and stands right in front of her, they keep looking into each other's eyes and appu puts his hand forward and asks her for a dance, jiya is abt to put her plam in his when a hand pulls hand back, it s samar who holds her and says that jiya is his heroine, and what is appu thinking. he pushes him away saying jiya will now dance only with him. appu wakes up scared, this s his nightmare. and sits on a chair. at this jiya comes into his room all smiling with a bowl and sits near him and tells him that today for the first time she has cooked upma for him with her own hands, then she takes a spoonfull and feeds him........he lovingly looks at her while eating, jiya asks him how s it, expectantly. he replies that if they run away will he get to eat this type of food everyday. at this jiya gets upset and starts ranting that she knew she cd nt do anything, she is indeed a dabbu, thats why everybody gets irritated with her, one day he will also get tired of her and will leave her...........appu says, she is right he will indeed leave her but not coz she is dabbu but coz she is a superstar, hearing this jiya starts pouting. appu asks her is she remembers their first dance. she nods a yes. he says then he didnt know if she ws a dabbu, for him she ws his mystery dancer. till now she had danced for herself. that day rhythm ws in her every step, he has never seen such talent and he is not selfish to pull her back, to hide such talent from the whole world.
mahesh is on his cleaning and dusting spree, he is yelling at sadhana to tidy the table soon, he starts dusting the sofa and yelling at dadi telling her why is she sitting on the sofa coz its leaving crease, dadi tells him she thinks sofa is a place to sit and as if ballu's sofa doesnt have any crease, then he starts cleaning the vase, dadi tells him that just by rubbing the vase 100 times he wont change it to gold, just then appu says he is leaving, and mahesh starts ordering him to bring on his way back colourful toilet papers, imported shampoo and soap, dadi rebukes mahesh saying how will appu be able to bring all this and tells jiya to go with him. seeing jiya leave with appu mahesh grudgingly says ballu wont like jiya hanging out with appu, dadi gets suspicious saying what does ballu has to do with all this, mahesh avoids the question and asks her to teach jiya how to make gajar ka halwa as ballu likes it, dadi replies that if ballu likes gajar ka halwa, then she or sadhna will make, why shd jiya do it, mahesh tries to avoid this as well by angrily saying that yes they will teach jiya nothng and she will be a dabbu and humilate him in front of ballu. this makes dadi even more suspicious and forces the truth out of mahesh, under her pressure mahesh tells her that ballu is coming to see jiya for his son. this shocks dadi.
