An Other Waaris?

In an attempt to revive its afternoon band Star Plus is all set to come up with two brand new shows titled Jaha Pe Ho Basera and Waaris . According to our sources from the channel the two shows will air from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

Where Jaha Pe Ho Basera is produced by Shreya Creations with Sandiip Sikcand as the creative Head of the show, Waaris is an Endemol project.

Sandiip Sikcand says, "I have just come on board as the Creative Head of the show so I am just getting acquainted with the cast. We have all new faces on the show. The storyline is about a family whose strength is the bonding between the members. The show is about the importance of a family over money and for them living together is more important."

Talking about the timing of the show, he says, "We have not decided on the timing as yet but yes it will be in the afternoon slot. The show is expected to air next month."

Deepak Dhar, Endemol, remained unavailable for comments. But our source from the show says, "The title Waaris is not finalised and is expected to change. It has the likes of Prashant Chawla (of Teen Bahuraaniyan fame), Neha Mehta, Nitesh Pandey, Girish, a theatre actor who will play the role of father and the mother will be played by the lady who was seen in the famous Manoranjan ad that promoted IPL."

Ravinath Menon, Executive Vice President, Star India, too remained unavailable to comment on the story.

As more and more channels are sprucing up their afternoon slot it's going to a good afternoon for all couch potatoes.
