Colors to have 'Jai Shri Krishna' in armoury

Adding to its bouquet of soap set during the freedom movement and an action-based reality show, Colors has unveiled two more shows: Jai Shri Krishna and Balika Vadhu.

Foraying into the mythological segment, made popular by NDTV's Ramayana, Color's Jai Shri Krishna will trace Krishna's 'journey right from the point he is born under dire circumstances to being taken to Mathura and being nurtured by his surrogate mother Yashoda', according to the release.

Commenting on the shows, Ashvini Yardi, programming head, Colors, said, "Everyone has seen innumerable mythologies on television in the past but what sets us apart with 'Jai Shri Krishna' is that we bring alive the most endearing and universal form of a very joyful childhood story of Krishna. The magnificent epic tale has the advantage of being visually spectacular with grand sets erected to depict key areas of Gokul Mahavana, Vrindavan."

Colors had earlier announced two programmes in its armoury list - the big ticket Akshay Kumar-hosted reality show Fear Factor and Mohe Rang De.

Colors, which will launch in the second half of July, will have to fight in a highly competitive turf.

"With the two new additions, we have unveiled two and half hours of programming. In the coming weeks, we will reveal another line up of one and half hours of content. Our single biggest priority is to offer programming that will help break through the clutter. You will see us deliver a strong proposition of differentiation and distinctive content that will add character to the channel," Colors CEO Rajesh Kamat says.

Produced by Meenakshi Sagar Productions, Jai Shri Krishna is an epic tale which will portray the childhood life of Lord Krishna.

Colors SVP and head – creative and content Ashvini Yardi says, "Jai Shri Krishna is the story of Krishna's childhood adventures. There is so many dimensions to Krishna's life that the story can go on for years. For now we are planning till Krishna's fight with Kans."

sagar new show promo on air and trust me wat a fab promo i just love that small kid with long curly hair doing stuff like stealing makhan(butter) ,stealing clothes that kid look really cute

ya u r correct. i ve seen ramanand sagar's sri krishna. i really loved krishn ball leela. the boy who had played the cast of krishn was so sweet. i liked all its scene of makhan chori , playing with gopies , fighting with demons...........
i hope this time they will bring this new show with more bal stories and leela 😛

yes i think so they will show more detail version this tim because this story is planned till krishna killed kans so they will show all tha bal leela of krishna
