Well... that’s Taran for you... he surely completely forgot that Abhishek Pathak actually stuck closely to the source material in Drishyam 2 smiley2

Nevertheless, the boxoffice tomorrow will be high as the Malayalam Drishyam 1 + 2 definitely were a superb basis for the remakes and now for the conclusion (I bet it will be the court room drama). smiley1

Enjoy everybody who goes... and tell your impression here - but without spoilers, please (maybe again a discussion thread can be made for those having watched the movie, like it was done for Toxic and often years ago... would be cool smiley16)

Nah, the third part of Hindi has always been said it's different to the Malayalam part, they didn't like the script and did their thing with their 3rd part

I read that malayalam drishyam3 was a family movie with a sad ending. So bollywood makers made a different script to make it a thriller.

Just watched the film. A decent thriller that truly comes alive in the last 45 minutes, especially once the courtroom drama begins. The third part may not be as iconic as the first, nor does it leave you as awestruck as the second, but it still works as a decent standalone film with several riveting moments.

The initial portions are far too slow.So slow at times that you feel like fast-forwarding the film in 2x. There’s barely anything happening in the first hour, with most of the first half devoted to setting things up.

The first half is largely carried by one man Jaideep Ahlawat. He is so terrific that you hardly miss Akshaye Khanna. His swag, charisma and attitude are simply to die for. He makes for a perfect opponent to Ajay Devgn, who is equally impressive here. Devgn was born to play Vijay Salgaonkar, and the role has become a landmark character in his career. Shriya Saran is also quite good, especially in her confrontation scene with the lawyer. Tabu, however, has been considerably sidelined this time, unlike the previous two parts, which gave her much more scope.

Thankfully, the film improves considerably in the final hour. Although the proceedings feel somewhat predictable, the rapid turn of events keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is hardly any time to think or catch your breath. The film redeems itself to a large extent in its final moments. The eventual reveal may not be as impactful as those in the previous parts, but it works well enough.

Overall, the film is quite watchable and a treat for lovers of the Drishyam franchise.

3.25/5

The ending of Drishyam 3 (Malayalam) is sad but it is an open ending as the boy's mother still isn't satisfied... she wants the whole family to get 'punished' (= destroyed)... Jeetu confirmed that he is working on a script for Drishyam 4.

Already in the Hindi Drishyam 2, Jeetu's script got turned a bit more into a less family-focussed movie, so it is understandable that the Hindi Drishyam 3 got even more turned into another kind of movie. The Hindi Vijay is not the same as the Malayalam Georgekutty smiley1

Drishyam the conclusion got almost 15000 screens for the opening day and has already crossed the 60 cr mark... until now, the occupancy is above 50 % but there are still the night shows to consider...
