Its not less good-looking its people who look less well off or groomed but also outspoken. For eg. Mridul wasn't well groomed but well liked, Pranit wasn't good looking but very well liked because he was well spoken. Zeeshan was a hoot and wasnt good looking.

Yet Himanshi was better looking than Shehnaz and hated. Shivangi in Lockup (considered conventionally good looking) is hated on another level, Hina was hated in her season etc etc.
