But we don't know WHEN Karan was conceived. In the first season he's older than Harsh but younger than Shobha as Tulsi was pregnant for real with her while Mandira was faking her pregnancy. In this season he's older than Shobha just like Mandira is now suddenly older than Anupam!

And again Karan was not conceived while Amar was on the show considering that Mandira was exposed while he was still on the show. Then Gautam was kidnapped and Shobha was born leading to the leap and both the incidents happened when Amar was still on the show, ergo Mihir possibly could've not met Mandira in Australia until after the fact.

Even something simple as chatt puja was confusing... if tulsi was dreaming, why were her bahus doing puja first... how could she see glimpse of mihir drinking tea, before he drank the tea!

We bash the show, but will give credit where it is due... amar's face reveal bg music was great... the way they changed the music when they showed his face was awesome!

No. Mandira was faking being pregnant when Amar was on the show. She even had a fake bump, Chirag happened to be an actor and he ended up shooting in a hospital where his crew accidentally captured footage that had Mandira in it with a flat stomach while she was pretending to be so far along in her pregnancy that she was showing. The footage is how Mandira is exposed as being a liar and Mihir finds out he's innocent as she had lied to him about them sleeping together while he was still amnesiac. He had no idea nor any proof to prove otherwise and when she faked reports he had to believe her. In fact there's a scene where Anupam and their mom take Mandira to a gynaecologist believing she's pregnant and Anupam wants her to get an abortion. Unknown to them that doctor turned out to be Mandira's friend who lied about her pregnancy and also said she can't abort as it could be fatal.

Karan was shown directly after the leap. We were initially introduced to him as a friend of Saahil's, he ends up getting close to the family and avoids Mihir until he commits a fraud in the company. He gets arrested after Anupam files a complaint against him as one of the directors of the company and it's when Mihir goes to jail to see the fraud that he gets the shock of his life by seeing his son. Karan even goes by a fake surname back then as he introduces himself as Karan Mehta. Mihir had no idea that Karan Mehta would be his own son and even though we clearly see the gripe he has with the family is owing to Mihir it's not immediately apparent that they're secretly father and son.

Karan is brought to SN when Mandira is believed to be dead and the family thinks that they have been unfairly punishing the child for the sins of his mother. Karan is happy but has two conditions to come to SN - he wants his mom's picture placed in the home and for Baa to come and fetch him as she had been the one to forbid him from entering SN once.

Baa goes and gets him with Gautam, Karan comes home carrying a picture of Mandira and that's when the family shows him a copy of the footage that had exposed the false pregnancy decades ago, Anupam also tells Karan how Mandira had been lying to him and their mother about Mihir being the father of her child and falling in love with him, etc. He tells Karan she faked her death after being exposed and he had been thinking for 2 decades plus his sister was dead until he found out the truth.

Karan didn't pop up out of nowhere and his birth was certainly never teased while Amar remained on the show in S1. He also didn't pop up because Ekta loved giving Ronit roles where he had half a dozen kids.
