Many people think that I have a problem with showing the FL as a homemaker and that I don't respect homemakers. I don't have a problem with showing the FL or ML as a homemaker if it is relevant to the story and the character is smart, strong, and has self-respect. I never objected to Reshma (3D), Meera (MSH), Malu (CBGD), Bhoomi (SV), etc., being homemakers, but I objected to Sayali being a homemaker because Sayali had the responsibility of the entire Ashram. The Ashram family needed her and respected her the most, but instead of looking after the Ashram family, she was busy cooking for those people who didn't need or value her. I really don't understand which girl would like to stay in such a house where her family gets insulted. When they showed Sayali not raising her voice against Purna Aaji for insulting Kusum Tai and the kids, that day my dislike for Sayali increased. You're right , neither sati not Savitri were itv pop princess. They were prime examples of women who had wisdom, valor and wit. Savitri outsmarted yama and Sati sacrificed herself for self respect. These are terms that are now used to mock women for some reason and their definition have changed so much now. Somewhere itv female lead and strength is compromised for 'family values'
