this is just how I personally feel.

Right at the beginning, after the intro ends, they've added that short romantic scene for a few seconds, and I feel like it was mainly done to create hype and attract the audience.

I dint start yet ..im not interested in FWB,ONS theme actually ..i dont find him that attractive also ..

I have watched The Early Spring, and honestly, this drama is not really my type.

I feel like the hype around it is mainly because of the chemistry between the leads.

The hero was clearly giving red flag vibes at the beginning, but the female lead is also a red flag.

Overall, I really liked the choreographer who worked on all the romantic scenes.

The director also did a great job visualising those scenes and presenting them beautifully on screen.

But when it comes to the characters, the female lead was definitely no saint either.

She created so much drama just because she didn't receive an award.

And honestly, both of them have a habit of not communicating at the right time

The novel is better. They whitewashed the male lead here and that made a whole shift in their relationship balance. Luan Nian stated clearly that their relationship will purely be sexual and nothing beyond that. He doesn't like the restrictions and questions that comes with the commitment and SZT knew what she was getting into. Thus also justified her having a life after Friday night to herself and her friends.

She only met Luan Nian's friends after they broke up and he asked his friend to help with her business. She didn't inrouduce her friends to him either except for asking help for Sun Yu. So they both treated each other like what they are.

The problem isn't the award itself. In the novel there was a pannel of 7 people out of that Will, Grace (the character was not in the drama), Tracy, and Luke gave her full marks. The other three were probably Yilia's people whose score affected Flora's score. No office romance getting leaked plot happened. The novel was more professional in that sense. SYZ's death was a heavy blow to her and Luan Nian helped her a lot in coming out of the loss (another major miss out in the drama). The award going to Yilia was probably the final nail but SZT started cracking ever before that.

One, seeing SZT and SYZ hugging and crying, and later Luan Nian told SZT he didn't miss her at the peak of intimacy. Second, during the meeting, he asked Yilia to take over the presentation to talk about the dragon spine theory. Later, when SZT said she had prepared the same he told, she should have told him earlier. Which SZT took it as 'I thought you were not capable and brought in an expert, okay that you are prepared. Maybe next time' Even though Luan Nian is not her boyfriend hearing something like that from someone who shares the bed for 6 years would be annoying. Thus she started feeling their relationship is truly rotten. Third, SYZ died, Yilia joined the nomination through the project connections her father brought. This is what SZT fought about . The nomination wouldn't have been approved without Luan Nian's consent, but he did it anyway without even giving her a heads up so he still thinks she is not fit for the position which further pushed her to think no matter how much she work hard in the office he will only see her as inferior to others because of their personal relationship. Still she held onto the hope that she will win it by merit. With the scores releaved annonymously she thought one of the low scoring of hers came from Luan Nian. Without all this info the dialogue of calling their relationship ugly and filthy looks like SZT was throwing a fit, in fact, no, she wasn't!

Plus with a foul mouth of his made things only worse. He had to go to America for a project of 2-3 months in between which she had Tracy and Will sign her resignation and moved out.

His return was also not anything like in the drama. He was still the same intimidating Luan Nian but with an annoying tone, invading her space and kept calling them equals. He scratched her car and took over her guest room which she did in the past. He realized and understood her fear and insecurities and started helping her without breaking her pride. That was his first change. He kept changing and started covering his sharp edges as life went by with SZT's pregnancy and childbrith. They took 3 days minimum in a year to travel alone because he needed to be that unhinged old self with SZT at least once a year
