This is an away series for India, as Afghanistan are the official home side playing at Delhi. Both teams enter this game looking for stability after mixed results in their respective previous series'. Afghanistan want to reset after losing the one-off Test and three ODIs to India, but they bounced back stronger against Ireland beating them 4-0 in their recent five-match ODI series. This will be their first appearance in T20 since the World Cup. Meanwhile, India are looking to build on their 3-0 win over Zimbabwe, which came after series losses against Ireland and England. In past T20 meetings between these two teams, India have been dominant with eight wins out of nine games.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah makes his much anticipated return to the Indian team today after recovering from a knee injury. India will rely on his bowling alongside Varun Chakaravarthy, while Sanju Samson is also back in the squad. That brings us to a key question for the team management: who will open for India?
