To answer I would split it in two parts

Pre-Kidnapping(Pre-K) and Post Kidnapping (Post-K)

Pre-Kidnapping I would say the most irritating would be more of Indrayani and lesser of Shreya. The reasons are obvious but to specify Indrani is unnecessarily venting her frustration towards Nayanika will not drive her out of the house.

And even it does Indraneel is not going to come back to stay in that house So what's the point make peace and live with what is there and let live.

I always felt such a character may have started with the harsh behaviour and then it became second nature for her.

Post Kidnapping -

It would be Nayanika. She is currently the most irritating.

There are two things to consider here.

1. With assumption this is the story line that was meant to be then Nayanika is completely fallen from grace. She has completely lost herself. What she was and what she has become.

Pre-K she was not exactly a door mat. She just did not want unnecessary confrontations is what I felt. She had created her safe space and she was fine till that is fine. First episode opening dialogue indicate that.

Post-K She lost her safe space and it must be heart breaking for her that it is shattered beyond repair. It is predominately because of a person irresponsible behaviour.

Her technically pre-marital intimacy and pregnancy does not bother me much as her accepting ishaan and accepting his actions (sindoor) though not whole heartedly. ishaan has time and again Post-K disrespected her by not taking Nayanika's wishes (sindoor event) into consideration. He is not bothered about her wellness and went on to ignore and hurt her. Stole her lyrics and lied about it. Was rude and nasty with her and distrusted her. That was crossing the line.

AND she is OKAY with being with such a person. That bothers. He is irresponsible, full of himself and disregarded her in multiple ways and probably is trusting him to follow through since he seems happy to take the decisions 'where his wife and child will stay' is being downright spineless She is now towards to be a proper doormat with no safe space which she had earlier.

In fact her not contacting Tinni after coming to Mumbai also does not seem incorrect. She probably is giving Tinni space to figure things out for herself. However, she should have done that earlier i.e. not been over protective to her.

My first answer would have been ishaan who is the reason for most of the mess ups and the randomness of his character tops the charts and with the way story progressing he is becoming a side character Like I did not list anything for Shreya would not for him too.

2. With assumption the story line and characterisation changed - Its more than obvious for whatever reasons so the comparison pre and post will be lopsided. But it needs to be done.

Nayanika is trying to figure out how stabilize her rocking boat but she is clear on many aspects of her life. Then stick to it.

Tinni's behaviour is not cause she is possessive though she says so but cause she is scared of change. Nayanika is her safe haven and seeing a change in Nayanika tinni's anxiety peaks and is driving her to gain control to avoid any further change. Nayanika knows her child is temperamental (I say child cause for a mother child is always a child) then address the issue in a straight forward manner and give straight forward answers and take concrete steps. Anyway Nayanika's character is changed not grown so that liberty could have been taken.

There is a concept of the right to be wrong. Use it. But instead its a long list of under and/or miscommunication with Tinni.

Here too I am fine with her now not calling tinni but the weirdness of her other actions and thoughts bother me. Many of her actions are result of story characterisation change which are not worthy for discussion hence not listing

Rest of the characters are butchered for convenience so not point since anyways they are side characters adding randomness to the already random story line. However, since there is wee bit consistency still in Nayanika and hence is there and topping it.

Else would Nayanika would NEVER EVER be in this list.

This the way I look at it. Peace out.

PS Madirakshi Mundle really did full justice to her role. A wonderful performance.

I am not saying that Noyanika is completely right. She is a flawed character

1. She left indraneel because of his infidelity. No wife would tolerate. She could have moved on earlier to secure hers and Tinni's life. Yet, she chose to stay in Basu house as Tinni's mother and raise Tinni single handedly.

2. I found her irritating that she didn't retaliate to the taunts of her ex in-laws.

3. If Ishaan taunted and disrespected Noyanika, she behaved wierd after going to Kolkata. Tinni took an extreme step and was hospitalized. She didn't even give her the chance to explain her on Ishaan's vermillion-filling scene. She gave into Tinni's demands of not keeping in touch with Ishaan. Noyanika humiliated Ishaan instead of telling him straight they can never be one. She wasn't open with Ishaan.

4. When Ishaan met with an accident she lied to Tinni and the family about an emergency call. She treated Ishaan as a doctor which was professional. But Tinni and the family had problems even with that.

Shesho also tried to knock some sense in Tinni's head saying she has a career and has a lot of leeway. Once she gets married, Noyanika wouldn't have any reason to stain a place where the ex family only take her services and taunt her.

I feel her elderly ex in-laws, Shreya, and elders in her mayaka are narrow-minded.

They left Indraneel scot free just because he is a man.

This is the reason why I split the answer into two parts - Pre and Post Kidnapping

Post kidnapping story and concept changed and most importantly character traits changed.

Randomness reached a level where once really can't see any consistency or pattern hence, there is not logic.

Each character was butchered for convivence. Hence their contribution to the story is just noise be it side characters or Main Lead ishaan.

Since they are just noise what is the point. Leaving us with only one character Nayanika who also was butchered.

But thankfully just was allowed a little consistency in character traits.

Hence I said 'Else Nayanika would NEVER EVER be in this list.'

Had this not been the case with the story and characters each of Nayanika's actions can be well defended as a part of her character arc.

I guess many would agree that this randomness has sent the serial to go off air. The news is out.
